This is a different, interesting kind of hotel. Nothing like this I've seen elsewhere. Pros: 1. Rooms are very spacious! Considering that this is in Japan. 2. The slippers are cool! Very comfy on the feet :) 3. Very good breakfast. 4. Excellent customer service. I called once to request for bottled water. In literally just 5mins, water is in... More

Just a couple of blocks from train station. Right in middle of town. Modern, comfortable, good value, and counter staff speak limited English. Room fair size and clean (I was on 10th floor). Great buffet breakfast with multiple breakfast items and what are really main course meals. I would stay there again. When i was there a festival was going... More

Unlike previous reviewers I have nothing to complain about. Stained carpet, yes, but with those complimentary slippers I could live with that for a few nights of my stay. WIFI is now functional, at least in rooms on 8th floor. The room was ok in terms of size with comfy bed and the heating was working well during our winter... More

The room is bigger then the normal Hotel has but every other hotel I've stayed at in Kuamgaya is clean, the King Ambassador is not. The carpets are flithy and the bathrooms smelled like sewers. I've stayed at many different Japanese hotels with the same overall plumbing drain system in use and I have never smelled on this bad. I... More

Not the best, not the worst. Stained carpets, old furniture, but clean in other respects. Good breakfast, very good service. Good hot shower! No wifi, but LAN worked great. I need to check out another hotel if I am in the area, but would not revolt if booked here again by the company service.

We stayed for 3 nights on business trip during scorching summer. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from Kumagaya Station. The room is really spacious for a Japanese hotel. The room is equipped with all necessities, toiletries, iron and ironing board, HD TV with limited English channel. Like the rest have mentioned, no wifi available and be prepared... More

Nice basic hotel that I used as a base for a business trip Good size room for a Japanese hotel, clean and with all the basic essentials. The only negative is the hotel has no WI-FI so please remember to take gear that uses LAN cable Great breakfast in the morning but I would eat out for the evening meal... More

My spouse & I stayed here for a week while he worked in Gyoda. It is a rather large hotel, and it seemed there were mostly Westerners during our stay. The room was as large or larger than an Americn holel room and clean enough, but the carpet seemed a bit worn and the open tub drain (typical in Japan)... More

The company made arrangements for us all to stay at the King Ambassador Hotel during a recent business trip to Kumagaya area. Everyone in my party except for me got the Superior room, much nicer and for not a lot of extra $ you should go for that if you have the chance. Anyway, I got the standard room and... More

The King Ambassador is surely the best hotel in Kumagaya. The rooms are very spacious compared to other hotels in Japan. It seems the hotel was planned to be a wedding hotel, but now attracts also business travelers. Broadband LAN-internet is free of charge. The hotel is located nearby restaurants, the train station (Shinkansen) is just a 5 minutes walk.
