The business card for this establishment has the spelling of the name as L'ESCALE. This was a late minute booking, sight unseen and not reviewed. A fair distance out of town on a quiet road. We were met by the owner Kaz, and although the rooms weren't ready, he made us feel at home when we bought a few beers...

We read a lot of review from the social media in Thailand. This place received such a good score and when we arrived I had no question why. The place itself is more like a home stay/ small hotel which offers both dinner and breakfast. The meals are so fantastic , the room and the living room are really comfortable....

We stayed here for a night in September. Our friends in Tokyo booked this accommodation, so we didn’t choose it. The location seemed like it was a little out of the way judging by our drivers various attempts to find it. Once there, it was nice though. WIFI is strong and free throughout the pension. Meals were included which was...

Don’t be fooled. This is a two star hotel that runs a chauffeur service to get around the fact that it is so far out of town. Given this, our stay seemed overpriced. The hotel is in great need of refurbishment. The carpet in our twin ensuite room was horrible, covered in stains and burn marks … as was the...

The thing that makes this place work very well is the outstanding personal service provided by the host, Kazu-san. It's like staying as a guest in someone's home, only better. We stayed 2 nights, planning to do the temples on the day we arrived, and the lake the next day. The inn's location is a little out of town, so...

This place is lovely, clean, tidy, friendly and helpful. It is a bit out of the way but they make up for this by coming to pick you up from the training, and when possible dropping you off for the bus, into town etc. Great English which was really helpful. Thank you very much for making my stay great. LC

Nikko Pension L'escale is indeed a bit out of the way from downtown (20mn walk uphill or $10 taxi ride), but it is a fantastic place and value. Fujita-San (Kaz) told us to call him from the train station and he drove down to pick up our luggage. Since we arrived in the morning, he dropped us off to the...

The Owner Mr. Kaz was very helpful. He came to pick us up and took our bags and took us to the bus stop for touring. He recommended a restaurant and came back to pick us up after dinner. The Breakfast that he prepared was amazing! Next day he dropped us to the train station. He was sincerely helpful and...
