Huge hotel in a small town. Great for family with decent buffet with a wide variety of Japanese food. Nice little touches - had little tables for stamps for kids and Halloween costumes to dress up in. There was also a short one man variety show in the evening for the kids to enjoy. View to the river was beautiful...

Overall I would say the stay was better than I expected. Although the condition of the room is probably more like 2 or 3 stars, but it was clean which was important. The public areas are nice and comfortable enough. The Wi-Fi works at the lobby but not in the room. I traveled with 2 teens. We stayed in the...

The staff were amazing. The food was pretty good. The rooms are looking very tired. The material was threadbare, the woodwork was chipped and worn and the carpets were stained in the hallways and to top it off checkout was 10am whereas in all the other places we have stayed in it was 12 noon. The other annoyance we had...

There are so many bad things to say about this hotel, but I will start with the positives. 1. The staff - although most of them speak little English, they are universally polite and helpful. 2. The buffet meals - for both breakfast and dinner there is a very wide variety of good quality food labeled in English (which, considering...

I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this type of hotel (with hot group baths and tatami mat floors) is unique. There are a number of floor mats in the room, so to get comfortable I stacked up three and slept quite fine. The buffet meals were expansive with all types of cuisine. There were 5 hot...

I had the pleasure of saying at Kinugawa Onsen Ryokan last month. The property was bigger than we thought. Everyone in our family loved the hotel. The onsen was great. Plenty of onsen pools, indoor and outdoor, were available. They were nice and clean. The only thing I wanted to add on the onsen is more instruction in English and...

This is a nice ryokan style hotel, with mattresses in the rooms laid out on the floor. The rooms are spacious enough, and the bathrooms are quite adequate too. The view overlooking the gorge is particularly nice - these rooms are recommended. The hotel has onsen facilities as well, with private (paid) family facilities too - these are nice and...

We spent a wonderful evening at this authentic Japanese hotel. The hotel is situated in the mountains in Japan. The hotel has stunning views. The hotel has also traditional Japanese baths, well worth a visit.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We were on business so didn't really have enough time to enjoy it properly but everyone was very helpful and the rooms were very quiet and comfortable with gorgeous views down onto the river gorge passing below. Nice cold Asahi beer and excellent Japanese food for dinner. Recommended.

Stayed here for 2 nights and booked 2 rooms. Recommend people to book the highest floor with the view of river - odd room number. Also, try to ask room that away from big tour group (especially from China) was lucky to be in room 1155 that has night view. Onsen pool here has both private reserved room or public...
