I stayed at the Mountain Lodge with a family member in one of the cabin style rooms. The bedroom was a good size though the bathroom was small. The lodge has 2 floors with some dorm rooms downstairs. We were greeted by Ken who was friendly and had honest recommendations of attractions in Nikko. Other staff encountered were also friendly...

Went in March 2017 and stayed for a night. The accomodation is located just opposite the Nikko Tobu Train Station and the bus station. There is a supermarket 3 min away from the lodge and there are plenty of food options in the day (note that restaurants close pretty early and you might have to walk 1km for dinner) Room...

Don't you get carried away by the look of the restaurant that gives the impression of it being a backpackers place . The restaurant owner has a complex just behind with rooms to rent including a two bedroom apartment for family stay which justifies the high prices otherwise should you be people 4 or more . Everything needed for night...

Since the lodge is about a 15 minute walk away from the train station, we took a taxi here upon arrival with our luggage. After that we walked to/from town and enjoyed the pleasant walk. I brought a flashlight for the evenings. Do ask the host Ken for the best walking route to town - we didn't know there was...

My husband and I stayed in a corner double room with cross breezes and lots of light. The room was large for Japan and had all the amenities - hair dryer, tissues. But the best was the host, Ken, who treated us like welcome members of the family, offering us rides into town when he was going, cooking us spaghetti...

I was nervous about booking a room here because the guidebook described the location as inconvenient, but it was the only double room available for the two nights we were visiting. I am so glad we did. The other branch is a couple of minutes walk from either train station in nikko. You can check in there and they will...

This hostel is cheap and the location is good. The hostel is just in front of the main Nikko station so it's really to be found after we arrived Nikko. There is also a super market and some restaurants near to the hostel, so it's easy to find some food in this area. The room is just fine but clean...

The lodge is beautiful and cozy, bunkbeds comfortable and private. It was exactly what I needed after a long day of hiking! Be aware that while it is situated in a scenic and safe spot the walk back from the centre is VERY dark as the streets are not well lit. Would reccomend a flashlight and using gps to locate...

The hostel is nice and clean with electric blankets and heater. Only challenge is that there are just 2 toilets and 1 shower that has to be shared among 8 people if the dorm is full, which unfortunately it was one of the 3 days I was staying there. Staff speaks good English but they are difficult to spot and...

The Nikko Park Lodge mountainside location is a French chalet nestled on a Japanese mountain. It is in the 21st Century but has the ambience of a pension in a 19th Century English novel and the decor of your coolest cousin's 1960s off campus commune - really, stained glass lampshades and a photo of John Lennon on the wall:) Everything...

“I had a private room at the very end of the hallway away from the common areas which was very quiet and the surrounding neighborhood is very quiet in a somewhat forested area. No problem sleeping in the room. If Internet is important, then rooms closer to the common area might be a better location.”
