Love love love this hotel. Set on the secluded area of Chuzenji Lake this hotel has the friendliest staff and excellent restaurant. The staff bend over themselves to help you with anything you need and the quality of food(see pics) and service is amazing! There is a hotel shuttle bus or a local tourist bus that takes you around Nikko visiting all of the amazing sites. The hotel is like stepping back in time but is by no means tired or worn, just very unique.

This very traditional Hotel is located quiet however quite isolated. Meaning, you don’t have any other chance then to use the hotel restaurant for dinner. Speaking about the restaurant, the quality is very good, however on the expensive side. When opening the window you hear the noise from the cars in the street in front of the hotel. As mentioned already in other reviews you cannot see the lake from your room. The beds didn’t convince me. Overall this is a very traditional managed hotel. Staff is very polite and of course like everywhere in Japan their rooms are very clean. Considering the price with over 30,000 without any food I consider this overpriced.

It is a secluded, historic, western style hotel right by Lake Chuzenji. Taking a walk along the lake in the morning is a calming and soothing experience. The hot spring is enjoyable. For breakfast, you could upgrade to a Japanese style menu, which is quite nice. There is a bus stop at the hotel, and it also offers shuttle bus service to and from the Tobu Nikko station 3 times a day.

We have visited Nikko by early Nov. during the best momiji perio. This was the second time we stayed in this hotel. We liked this hotel apart from the efficient services from the hotel staff, should be the beautiful environment around. This time we stayed in the room on ground floor and could directly go out to the greenery from the balcony. The French dinner was delicious while the outdoor onsen was enjoyable. Highly recommended.

We spend here just one night, but we enjoyed so much! The restaurant is amazing, offering a great menu and great service. The rooms are spacious as well as the bathroom, and the atmosphere is kind of Old times! Really nice. You are immerse in the nature and all the rooms have the lake view, so you can enjoy the beautiful landscape. The onsen is probably one of the best part of the hotel.. and you can enter also if you have tattoos. On top of that, the lounge at the second floor is just amazing.. lots of books, free cosse and tea, and cozy sofas!
