The best things about this stay was the onsen with pearl shell and the breakfast and dinner sets. The room we stayed in was a Japanese style room with a pleasant Harbour view and the food was of a high quality. The hotel was showing its age and we were aware that there were better buildings on the same grounds but overall this was a pleasant stay.

This was my very first time staying in a traditional Japanese hot spring hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel by self-drive car, a lady wearing kimono came out from the hotel immediately with a luggage cart to help us unload our luggage. She was truly nice and helpful. She escorted us to the main lobby, and settled us down first at the lounge area and served us with green tea and cheese cakes (very delicious). The check in procedure was smooth and easy. Our room was on 5/F facing the inner bay and the private garden of the hotel. The whole atmosphere was tranquil and peaceful. Our package had included full course of Japanese dinner with abalone and Ise lobster. The set dinner was truly a memorable one, unforgettable and must try. The breakfast served in the other day morning was also nice and yummy. The hot springs (one for male and one for female) on ground level were also must try, especially the Pearl Spa by Mikimoto Cosmetics. The services, foods and hot springs are excellent and this hotel is highly recommended to those who plan to experience the grace and charm of Ise.

Shioji-tei is a hotel that stands out in my mind when I think about our fabulous holiday in Japan. It just oozes tradition and luxury, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating (even when we ask ostensible request like sourcing bread staple for my wife at Shioji-tei breakfast). It is set near the ocean (you can walk down onto the warf) and it’s located in the hills on spacious grounds with an enclosed traditional Japanese gardens. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the train station or you can use the complementary shuttle bus at set times. There are restaurants walking distance from the station. The hotel has two sets of onsens for male and females, each set are connected indoor and outdoor onsens, the latter is very aesthetically pleasing and relaxing.

The three of us stayed in the Uji room, utilsing the two beds and a futon bought into the room in the evening. This room is spacious, Japanese themed, yet modern, with views into the garden, both from inside the room and from the fresh- water onsen styled tub on the verandah. The latter has comfy furniture to lie back and relax while taking in the quiet ambience of the garden (which no one can enter so your privacy is guaranteed). Finally, my wife loves the bathroom products.

Breakfast is traditional top-grade fare and a highlight of my stay at Shioji-tei. It's enjoyed within private booths on the second floor that overlook the garden.
My wife is very constrained food wise when it comes to international cuisines. We made enquires about substitutes for her and they were very accommodating, enabling her to have breakfast at their sister hotel next door, Toba International, while I enjoyed the Shioji-tei breakfast.

It is an awesome find! World class and Most amazing pearl onsen! It is luxurious and pampering. Wonderful breakfast set that is elaborate, delicious and makes you feel so well nourished especially after a relaxing onsen bath. Well bodied coffee served from 7:30-10:30am daily is a treat! The views are breathtaking! See these pictures to be blown away! We will be back!

This year was the fifth time we have stayed here at this time every year (on our wedding anniversary). As always, the hospitality was very kind and heartfelt, and we were able to spend time relaxing both body and mind. This time, at my request, we requested a change of room, and you were so kind as to accommodate that request. As always, we enjoyed the food, bath, and room. My wife especially loves the bath (the open-air pearl water bath), and we always use it in the evening and morning.
We would like to continue staying here as long as we are able to visit.

I stayed here for one night when I visited Ise Toba. There is a shuttle bus that is operated jointly with Toba International Hotel from Toba Station, which is convenient. It takes about 5 minutes by bus to arrive at the hotel and when you proceed to the lobby, you can see the lush green lawn and Toba Bay in front of you. In the lawn garden, an event was held from the evening to the night where people enjoyed coffee and marshmallows around a bonfire. It is also beautiful at night. The cheesecake and tea served as "welcome sweets" in the calm lobby are exquisite. The room was "Sugashima", a room with two rooms, one 8 tatami mats and one 6 tatami mats. I felt that this room was a little disappointing. I think that is because of the structure of the room. The entrance to the 6 tatami mat room was just a passage to the 8 tatami mat room, and the veranda was very narrow and a little claustrophobic, but I was able to spend my time there without any inconvenience. The open-air bath at Pearl Onsen, the library in the building, and other facilities were all very clean and nice. And above all, the breakfast was very satisfying. It was clear that each dish was carefully prepared, and the small pot of eel in particular was delicious and also exquisite. We ate out for dinner, so I would like to have dinner there someday. NUMU RESORT and Toba International Hotel are famous as hotels operated by the Mitsui Fudosan Group in Ise-Shima, but I think this hotel is also a good place to stay in Toba.

I was generally satisfied with the place, except for the restaurant (Shiraishi). The staff were kind, and the open-air bath was pearlescent. The cheesecake at the beginning was also delicious. At night, they served us marshmallows by roasting them over a bonfire in the garden, and they took great photos with their smartphones. The disappointing thing was the food, the male waiter was very rough and just "crash" everything. It ruined the meal. The first half of the meal (the first course) was good, but the second half was just average, and not worth the price. The breakfast was also too elaborate, and the taste was secondary, and when I started to eat, I could hear the sound of the people next to me cleaning up. This was the first time I've stayed at such an unbalanced inn. The restaurant staff needs to be replaced.

We went on a trip to Ise-Shima to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. We chose Shiojitei because we wanted a quiet and relaxing stay. We chose a room without meals, in a modern Japanese twin-type room. The room was clean and well-maintained. We also enjoyed the open-air pearl aurora bath and indoor hot spring bath at Tokowaka-no-Yu. Our room was located in the center of the third floor, so the view from the room was great. Above all, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Coffee and roasted marshmallows were served in the lounge, so we were able to relax without any worries.

I always stay here whenever I go to Ise. The food, hospitality, and staff are all excellent. It's a wonderful inn that can be enjoyed by everyone, from children to the elderly. The service of roasting marshmallows in the garden at night is wonderful. The stars in the night sky and the sound of the ocean waves were soothing and very relaxing. The cosmetics in the bath are of high quality, and you can come empty-handed, which is very comfortable. Meals are also served in private rooms, so you can have your own private space and it's very comfortable.
I'm looking forward to visiting again next time.

The limit is 200 characters, so I'll comment one by one. The welcome drink came with cheesecake, which was delicious and easy to understand. The room we were shown to was spacious and clean. The large public bath was also empty, probably because it was the time of year (Thursday), and was spacious and clean. The dinner we were looking forward to was as expected, with delicious food including spiny lobster, abalone, and Japanese beef (not sure if it was Matsusaka beef), and the portions were not too large. It was also pleasant to stroll out of the hotel garden (along the sea). If I had to mention one negative thing, it would be that we couldn't see the sea from the suite (but the garden was still pretty nice), and that we decided to leave the flowers we received as a gift for our pearl wedding, as they were too big and would be a burden on the train. So if there were no negatives, I'd give it 6 points, but I'll give it 5 points.
