It's a Japanese style Ryokan, it's worth to stay to experience. I booked with half board The breakfast and dinner are OK, but be prepared to experience something different. The location is very good and very close to Gion subway station, and you arrive directly from airport by subway. It's at very central place and quite easy to go either...

I needed an accommodation that is close to airport for an early flight home, and Yamamoto Ryokan is merely 2 mins walk to Gion underground station, which is just 3 stops away from the airport, and just one stop from Hakata Station. This family owned ryokan is located within short walking distance to Kushida Shrine as well as Kawabuta Shopping...

The location is ideal. Wifi doesn't reach all rooms. Common bathrooms and toilets. No english spoken. It comes cheap, and you get for your money. Locations is clearly a plus. The rest is at minimum service.

Nice little traditional Japanese accommodation (Ryokan). After arriving via bullet train, the hotels location is a 20 min walk from Hakata station. Plenty of things to see and do within the vicinity. 10 min walk to Canal city and red light district, 30min walk to Fukuoka convention centre (where the sumo is normally held ever November) and a 30 min...

Lovely hotel with very kind owners. Just 10 min. walking from JR Hakata train station or 2 min. walking from subway station Gion. Traditional rooms so you are sleeping on the ground (soft mattress). Wifi is available. Very clean bathroom and toilet facilities. We arrived early in the morning and we could leave our bags for the day. There are...

This wasn't my first trip to Fukuoka but my first ryokan experience. It was a pleasant stay. The room was nice, the bedding was very comfortable, the building was quiet, and they do have WIFI, which I wasn't expecting as no other review or info I saw mentioned it. The owners were nice but spoke very little English. I only...

The Yamamoto Ryokan really ticked the boxes as far as we were concerned. It had a good location - even marked on street maps by the nearest underground station. The building oozes history and charm - and even though the owner speaks little English, she really made us feel welcome without being 'in your face'. Personally I like that...and the...

I selected that ryokan because it was in a central location which was what i needed as a base for my three days stay in the area. This ryokan serves no meals apart from Japanese breakast which was okay but that was it. The room comes with the basic usual amenities that you find a ryokan and the shared toilets...

“Try to get a room on the second level, it might be a pain to carry your luggage up the stairs but it is relatively quieter upstairs and you won’t be able to hear the dogs barking.”
