Room is above average size in Japan. Interior decoration a bit dated. Services are generally good. The hotspring pools are acceptable. That said, I didn't feel the hotspring water slippery onto my skin and no sulphur smelling. Wonder if the water is real hotspring. Asked their staff who confirmed yes. But this was not my prior experience in hotspring water. You could literally smell sulphur when you passed by some hotspring sites.
5 Stars from me for this hotel. Time there December 11th and 12th, Party of 6 in 3 separate rooms. My wife and I, Her mom and dad, and her brother and uncle. Where to start, Friendly staff, great view from the room. Minutes walk away from the Train station, "YouMe" Mall, and ofcourse various eateries. Enough to explore around the area. There was no breakfast available, but like i said plenty of eateries near by, And if you've been to Japan before you know that Lawson has a wide range of good food to have. Did not get to try the restaurants in the hotel, but only because there was many stuff near by. Onsen(Hotspring) on the 3rd floor.
Stayed at this hotel 30th December for one night. Very very busy with lots of families. Queue to checkin and queues for breakfast but the staff deal with them quite quickly. Nice big rooms with nice view on the 13th floor were we stayed. Breakfast was nice with good selection of different food and surprisingly not too many delays in getting what you wanted even though crowded. Very busy time of year so one would need to book in advance. Two negatives, toilet and bathroom in our room had quite a high step into it which would make it difficult for older people. Also we parked on the top floor of the car park and there were no lifts only access was by staircase. Some people would find it difficult and also quite hard with luggage. I would suggest unload at hotel foyer and then park. Even with that enjoyed our stay.…
We are party of 5 and stayed in a 6 bedders room which was huge. It has a separate shower and a sitting area. We enjoyed the onsen (it has indoor and outdoor onsen) which was well equipped with all amenities. We booked with breakfast (option for international buffet or Japanese) and both were very good. Location is near to JR station with lots of food options within 10 mins walk. Opposite the hotel is a convenient store. Parking is free. I am most impressed with this hotel despite my earlier reservations. I highly recommend this hotel.
Kamenoi Beppu Hotel is a rather old establishment. quite crowded but still manageable. we love the onsen. we like their breakfast spread, which let us try some of Beppu's local food, such as steamed mushroom/sweet potato, tempura chicken. however, hotel has only central heating for rooms. when we felt hot & stuffy, frontdesk wanted to give us a fan but was out of stock. we had to leave room door open to let cool air in for a few hours before room feels more comfortable to sleep in. fortunately, the next day, we managed to request for a fan but we still had to leave door open to cool the room. The TV remote control was pretty dirty, with stains around buttons. The hotel provides a very useful handphone, called "Handy" tool that we find very useful to bring out and use with reliable data connection for google maps. overall a good hotel that has big room for 5 of us.…
