Room deco created like wooden architecture reminded me traditional Japanese beauty which has not been found in Japan currently. Pictures in opening bet. “Sho-ji” felt “Wabi-sabi” we called. It’s typical Japanese beauty. On the other hand, Lobby was built by modern style. Blossom Hotel were characterized by both differences boldly. Also I impressed staff hospitality very much. “Onsen” located on a roof top level is great. But this is Oita Prefecture, it’s normal. Overall I highly recommend here. First is sophisticated deco, second is staff hospitality and last is easy access to Oita station.
We stayed for a night at JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Oita. As we were out throughout the day, we did not have enough time to enjoy the roof top onsen. Given that it was raining the whole day, we did not get to enjoy the outdoor garden on the 8th floor. We stayed in a double room, and the size was more than adequate. The decor was a little heavy on the ornate side and it looked and felt relatively new. Our short stay was comfortable, definitely recommend to stay here if in Oita.
What a great hotel. Modern, clean, well- run, nice rooms and an amazing rooftop, open- air hot spring with an infinity view overlooking the city and the inland sea. The check- in at the hotel is on 8F and the rooms are above that level, so there are no bad views. I was given Room 1802, a double bed room facing west, with a nice view over the station plaza and the bay. In fact I could see all the way to the ferry I was taking the next day from Beppu to Shikoku’s Yawatahama. The room was decorated in warm woodwork while the bathroom was very sleek and modern. The bathroom had the latest fixtures, very nice, and a good selection of amenities. Everything was spotless and everything also function perfectly. The room was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable, so I slept well. The internet was very fast here. The best feature was the amazing onsen. There were men’s and women’s spas, and the men’s included onsen inside (20th floor) and outside, on the top floor – with an “infinity view,” looking west across the station plaza, to distant Mount Tsurumi, Beppu, and the adjacent bay. It was the most impressive hotel onsen I have yet to see. The view is amazing. That view, plus the hot, soothing waters, will put any stress to bed. Unlike many hotel O Furo, this one gives you towels so you don’t have to bring your own. There is a bar / snack restaurant along with spa services / reception on the 19th floor. Breakfast was excellent. Guests were given a double- stack bento box with a kai-seki-like assortment of treats, and then there was the traditional buffet in addition. The chicken tempura (toriten) was especially delicate and tasty. I was not sure what was in the box, but it was all delicious – kind of Kai Seki meets Asa Gohan. Although it’s on 8F, the breakfast room looks out onto a nice garden and there’s a terrace where you can eat outside. The whole top of the station is a terrace with garden spots, a really top- class children’s railway, some shops which were not open when I went out and what looked like function rooms. The location is great, right in the center and you can get from the station to the hotel totally indoors. The AMU plaza shopping complex has a a lot of great stores, an extensive food court with many good choices, and of course several Knobinis. There are a number of good choices in Oita, but this hotel is way above the others in my opinion. Highly recommended.…
So good I would even return to Oita just to stay in this hotel! One of the more modern and comfortable hotels amongst the JR ones we lodged with in Kyushu. Cutting to the chase, our room was clean and tastefully decorated, the bed was very comfortable, and we felt absolutely at home! The greatest advantage was the rooftop outdoor onsen!!! It opens from 6am and guests can absolutely indulge in that chilly warm moments before sunrise! (Highly recommend waking early for that!) Conveniently located, as with all JR hotels.
Situated right next to JR station. Friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Fell in love with the hotel from the moment we stepped in. The rooms are nicely decorated and well maintained. Clean and comfortable. Great housekeeping team that keeps our rooms fresh and clean during our stay. Free usage of the outdoor onsen on the top level. Rooms are quite spacious compared to other hotels in Japan. A nice outdoor garden on the hotel lobby that overlooks the city. There is a shopping area at the train station. Lots of food option around the hotel. Overall, we had a wonderful and comfortable stay at the hotel. As the title goes, Excellent hotel, comfy room and great value. Highly recommended.
