APA HOTEL SAGA-EKIMAE-CHUO is 800 meter far from Saga Station. Room is Clean and look old-fashion. You can park your car with 500¥ per night. Bathroom has full facilities. Nice service and support from staffs.

A decent hotel which is closed to the train station about 5 minutes walk. We only stayed for a night, though the room is small (which is common in Japan), it has most amenities. The bed was comfortable for one night sleep, though the pillow was too flat and thin and small. Free wifi was available. The only downside we faced was the coldness in the room. There was no heater in the room and at night, the room became too cold for us.

I traveled all over the country in Japan for biz and leisure. Hotels in Japan are usually very well maintained, and I rarely give such negative review. This is the dirtiest hotel I ever stayed in. Room is musky and smelled of stale cigarette (though my room is non-smoking). Bathroom is the worst, mildew and damp smell. The back of the vanity mirror are all black mold. Hand sink leaks. See photos. The walls are all cracked and scruffed. A/C is old with no temperature control and blows dry warm air. It gets very hot so I have to open the window for fresh air, but have to hear all the heavy traffic from the main street. Did not rest well for the night. Stained carpet, squeaky wood doors. The only good thing is it is 5 mins walk from the station. But then there are many other biz hotel options on the same block. Front desk service is decent. I am just shocked by the condition of the room.

I stayed in APA hotel near station on a business trip for 1 night. We arrived late around 11pm and the staff was generally friendly and helpful with a quick check-in. However that is where the postives ended. Upon arrival upstairs the room looked clean on the surface but after further inspection clearly the property had seen better days. There were scratches and marks on the wall next to the bed as if someone was moving furniture around. The bathroom was tiny and dates with a shower that I had to crouch under in order to use. There was no proper air-conditioning, only a vent that pumped slightly cooler air into the room and varying velocities. The desk was completly cluttered with unecessary junk, advertisements and self-promotional ads and other useless material that I had no where to put down my stuff. The bed looked large for a single and decent at first but the pillow was like a flat, thin, deflated pancake and the mattress was old and saggy. There is a sign in the room in Japanese advertising that the staff is there to support guest's good night sleep so I went downstairs to ask for more pillows but told they were out of stock of extra pillows. For a large hotel with dozens of rooms its pretty inexcusable. To make matters worse they advertise wifi in all the rooms but this is a lie. I was able to connect and use the wifi in the room for about 30 mins and then was disconnected and unable to reconnect for the remainder of the night and all through the next morning so was forced to use data. The next morning the breakfast buffet was pretty egregious with the Japanese style breakfast being somewhat decent but anything resembling western food a joke. I have been living in Japan for 15 years and speaks fluent Japanese, have stayed in numerous business hotels all around the country but would never, ever, willing stay in an APA hotel if given the choice. To make matters worse the company chain has a reputation of right-wing nationalist views. The president and his wife are unabashed racists and every room is littered with revisionist history pamphlets claiming the Nanking massacre other war atrocities were all made up by the Chinese. They also have a history of illegally demanding resident cards from resident foreigners in Japan. The owners of this chain spend so much money promoting their racist views thats I wish they would spend a bit more money updating their facilties to make them somewhat decent with international or even domestic Japanese standards. The staff are all kind and hardworking people, I just feel bad that they have to work for such a crappy company. I would highly recommend avoid all APA hotels as there are many more other better options in the same price range like Dormy Inn which has in house hotsprings, excellent facilities and are in the same price range.

Decent hotel about 7 min convenient walk away from Saga JR station. Only stayed there for one night as Saga was just a break between Nagasaki and Hakata for me. Hotel room itself was small, which is normal for Japanese hotels but comfortable for a one-night stay.
