We were there on 28th September 2016. Arrived at 4-ish PM and started a comfortable onsen, then had dinner at 7pm. Japanese-styled dinner, with seasonal fish and vegetables, tofu, as well as pearl white rice. In additional of the dinner set, we pre-ordered fish and chicken hot pots, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience! With a relaxing...

I ate breakfast and dinner each day in the inn. The owners don't speak any English and my Japanese is limited, but they made every effort to communicate with...

We visited this ryokan on the recommendations of the other reviews, and all expectations were met. Shionoe is a very quiet onsen town, surrounded by the lovely steep tree-covered mountains of Kagawa Prefecture. You definitely will need help making the booking if you don't speak Japanese. My husband does, and this made it much easier for us. However, our host...

This ryokan is in Shionoe Onsen, a hotspring resort in the mountains of Shikoku; you will need to speak Japanese or have somebody book for you. Shionoe is about 40 minutes' drive south of Takamatsu, which is easy to get to from Okayama on the spectacular Marineliner train which crosses the bridges across the Inland Sea. Utoroa is a small...

“I only saw our room but we had a large room (10 plus tatami) with a private bathroom. The furo in the ryokan is great, as are the rotemburo in the village.”
