Very clean, helpful owner, but lack of atmosphere. Not perfect location, but fine. Rooms are simple, no inspiration, but very clean. A bit overpriced, for what you get. Not even a towel... Was expecting more atmosphere at a place like that. More potential to the place...

This is not a youth hostel, but a homey little inn with a personal touch. I stayed here the second time now, and again it was perfect. It is two stops away from Kochi station and very easy to find, dinner and breakfast at a budget price, the owner speaks English and everything here is as it should be. The...

We only stayed a night but I really liked this place. The three of us booked a dorm and we ended up having the four bed room to ourselves. The only thing I didn't like was that they had installed tatami in the bunks. I'd so been looking forward to a real mattress! Obviously if you like tatami, though, it's...

Everything was perfect, cosy and clean guesthouse, big comfortable room. The staff is always helpful and friendly. They gave us all the good advice for this stay. And the must : a nice tasting of Sake by the enthusiast Staff.

The Kochi Youth Hostel Sake no Kuni Kyowakoku is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Engyojiguchi Station. Upon entering the hostel you are pleasantly surprised by its spacious interior. The individual rooms are adequately equipped and for a hostel they have a good size. The showers and toilets are correctly and to meet almost a middle class hotel. Upon request...

I needed to find the place in Kochi city to stay urgently for the next day and found out there were only smoking rooms left on the hotels near city center and Kochi station. Because I don't smoke, I always steer away from smoking room. This one located two stations away from Kochi station, non-smoking room was available and was...

This is the best youth hostel I have ever seen. The rooms are immaculate, the place is very clean the people are very nice. I especially loved the sake tasting which was fascinating, there is a huge fridge full of sake and if there is some time the owner would give you a lecture, in my case I told him...

Hi. I'm from Taiwan. I traveled with my friends to Kochi for one night. At first, we couldn't find any photos of this hostel only the comments online. Yet, when we got there, the hostel was completely clean and new. For starters, the host was very kind. The rumored said that he used to make sake for a living. That's...

I really enjoyed staying at this youth hostel. The interior was a modern version of old Japanese farm house style. The food was great. I couldn't believe it was only 1000 yen! The breakfast was also great. I was expecting like a continental breakfast because it was only 400 yen. It was happy surprise. I took a sake tasting class...

we booked a private room...and it was spotless...same with the shared bathroom and shower room...bit of a walk from Engyojiguchi station (which is 2 JR stops away from Kochi)...as far as hostels go, definitely an above average place...only complaint was that I couldn't get wifi in the rooms...but available in public area downstairs...
