Planned a snowboarding trip to Hakkoda for the Chinese New Year holiday in 2017 and had a great stay with Jogakura. They were able to pick us up from the Shin-Aomori train station and bring us directly to the hotel. The driver even stopped at a super market and let us buy some snacks/booze for the week. The hotel is...

Terrific base to explore Amoroi and enjoy a true Japanese hotel. Opened as a Ryokan in 1966 and converted to an Onsen hotel in 1988. They have invested in renovations since. The Onsen includes sauna, cold plunge, indoor and outdoor baths . The Indoor bath faces a glass wall that looks into the forest. They offer message chairs, treadmills, and...

Clean at a good location for mountain activity followed by inside or outside warm bathes. Big rooms. Good strong wifi. Nice secluded and quite location. Beef is specialty protein source in the area. Attentive help staff with little English spoken.

This place is excellent, to stay after enjoying a long day of ascent and descent in Japow. Hakkoda is a rare gem, with less (annoying) people and much more trails to ascent and then descend through incredible powder snow. And Hotel Jogakura is arguably the best place to stay after such a perfect day. We were sad to stay only...

I greatly enjoyed an early-May overnight getaway at Hotel Jogakura. The property is about a five minutes' drive from the Hakkoda Ropeway. There was still plenty of snow (and skiers) atop the mountain, while at lower altitudes trees were blossoming and marshes re-appearing out of the snow. There are numerous nearby hiking trails as well as a couple of famous...

I spent my first night at Hotel Jogakura for my Tohoku trip back in early June. I made the room reservation directly from the hotel website and followed its instruction to arrange for courtesy pick up at Aomori Station 3 days prior to my stay there. The hotel is located in Mount Hakkoda area as such the car ride was...

My wife and I were able to stay at Hotel Jogakura for one day. We were off season and found the place to be very peaceful (Mid-May, still 2ft of snow on the ground). The food was wonderfull. The Tuna and Kobe Beef were the best we found in our 9 day trip through the northern part of Japan. Hotel...
