Now that I have returned home from overseas, I have time to write a review on the amazing Intercontinental hotel in Almaty. We stayed here for a week and were treated like royalty. This deluxe hotel has quality fittings throughout with beautiful furnishings and large rooms. The service by staff was second to none, from the reception area to the concierge desk, bell boys to the waiters and waitresses and room servicing, we could not fault a thing. As a matter of fact this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The hotel is spotlessly clean and has a very good spa area with indoor pool. The meals we had at the hotel were very good starting with an excellent breakfast. We particularly enjoyed meals in the Turkish restaurant. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this fine hotel. A big thank you to all the fabulous people that work there, it is a credit to you all.…
Rooms need to be renovated, the lighting in the room is quite dark, reception staff need to be more professional about their services, clear communication and facial expression. Location is quite difficult to find any convenient store with
Rooms need to be upgraded - feels like a really old hotel. Housekeeping needs to be better. Watercups / towels not replaced. Communication needs to be better. I was placed in IHG Club Room Floor. I am also a Platinum Elite Member of the IHG loyalty program. I called the reception to confirm if I have 2 pieces laundry complimentary. They said yes. But at time of check out were insisting i pay. Diana at the reception was extremely rude. Only the duty manager at night was helpful.
Located in central Almaty overlooked by the beautiful Zailiyskiy Alatau mountain range. Hotel is an old style structure but has an amazing central atrium. The suites are a little dated and dark but are immaculate and very comfortable. Breakfast is buffet style with a huge selection of international and Kazak dishes and a separate to order egg and waffle station. There is a nice professional spa in the basement along with a pretty good pool and gym with a nice outdoor terrace area. There is a very good Turkish restaurant in the hotel as well as a grill room and nice little lobby bar. Staff throughout the hotel are very professional, helpful and friendly. Hotel is in a great location and walking distance of many of the central landmarks. So great hotel for business or leisure. Highly recommended. …
Wonderful Hotel I enjoyed the silence...Perfect silence and every kind of support provided by the beautiful hotel.. Very good staff..Always smiling by heart and try to help u.. Hotel so clean, wifi is good, location is wonderful.. Almaty is wonderful city, wide streets, many many cafes, restaurants, many many amazing parks.. Its city of green and all kind of beautiful Nature colours blended perfectly.. People so polite and so beautiful..And honest.. Country is improving so fast and modern with utmost respect to tradition and keeping environmental aspects high.. Liked this place so much.. I felt the rich culture in every corner every place i visit. From time to time I surprisingly found myself making wishes to live in this country and the very city forever..
The location is great. It is built right in front of Mayor`s office. But the property is very old and needs to be renovated. Bathroom, elevators, furniture etc. should be changed. It looks like a four stars hotel. TV set is minimum 10 years old, I dont remember when we were using such tvs .
Hotel lies in the heart of town and surrounded by beautiful parks. The food in this hotel is out of this world. I found the very best Tiramisu at this hotel. I tried almost every item on the menu. The only item i didn’t like was the pad Thai. Everything else was delicious. The local beer was amazing.
Great check in and the room met my expectations. Very polite, friendly service all round by every staff member I encountered. Orly and Roman were the stars, they must have been well selected and trained, well done management. My room had a great view of the mountains, very picturesque. During a difficult COVID-19 breakfast stayed open. Sadly could not use the rest of the hotel facilities. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and I would come back.
Excellent service from the minute we arrived to when we left, plenty of staff to assist in making your stay special. Little bit up from some of the attractions but in easy walking distance for us, also not too far from the Shymbulak Ski resort which we got to by taxi from the hotel 15 – 20 minutes away, there also frequent buses which we used to get back. We also walked (15 – 20 Min) to the Gondola to Kok-Tobe Hill which is wort a visit and gives a great view of the city. Nice pool and Spa and very reasonably priced massages and other treatments. The hotel J bar and the staff in there was also excellent on the two occasions I visited.
I had a lengthy stay here for work and it was fantastic. Great room, well serviced and cleaned - with excellent cleaning staff. All staff were great - from front desk to restaurant staff to business centre staff. The meals were delicious with a varied selection. I was also using the Club Room which was relaxing for doing some work. Wi-fi was reliable and I had no problems with anything.
