Ok, here goes...I wanted to stay here because I had prior experience with a hotel in the same building. The rooms then were spacious and cheap.
After checking in, I enquired if it is the same hotel only renovated. I was told it wasn't.
The rooms were priced around S$60 without breakfast and we stayed for 2 nights. The room is fairly spacious, the windows do not overlook any views at all (against a backdrop of another wall). Queen bed was large and clean with 2 pillows and a third in the closet which also houses the small safe for our passports. Closet space was sufficent but with only three cloth hangers which was a shame really.
Toilet space was sufficent for one with a demarcated showering area. A good move to separate the bath splashes from the washing basin usage. 2 body towels and a face cloth. Usual hygiene consummables are provided in the toilet as well.
Next to the bed was a small sofa good for one. With the bed, it was facing the TV. And here I come to the truly unacceptable portion of the room. The TV was shamelessly small by today's standards. I would think it the size of a small computer monitor hung onto the wall. It looked so completely out of dimension with the rest of the room. You could just mistake it for a picture frame. The next no no was the absence of a fridge. How is it possible to not have what I would consider one of the essentials of human comfort in a seemingly contemporary lodging? This absence is in glaring contrast to the piped music on the walkway corriders. Music over comfort??
Hotel is situated within a radius of shops and restaurants. Convenience and retail. Food and night entertainment; pub, karaoke is available easily.
In summary, it was a confusing stay. I like the location and the impression of an accomodation. Unfortunately, the lack of a fridge and the lilliputian TV was a thrown in insult that constantly reminds and will be my lasting impression I take away from this place.

This is my 3rd visit to Grand Sentosa. First was for leisure, when Legoland first opened it's doors. The second and third time was for business.
Reason for booking this hotel...it's priced below RM200 per night. We got the deluxe-sized room this time around, which has 2 single beds and a slightly larger layout.
Room is clean, but could be better. Bathroom goodies includes toothbrush and toothpaste. Liquid bath gel/shampoo, those two in one stuff and a bar soap.
Our room came with breakfast, which is located outside the hotel. Just ask the staff at the front desk for directions. The spread is nothing fantastic, but sufficient. Usual fare from 3 visits: chicken ham, chicken sausage, mashed potatoes, fried noodles/rice, nasi lemak, noodles in soup, scrambled eggs, an egg station for bulls-eye eggs ONLY, fruit platter, a bread section with a toaster machine, butter and some assorted jams. Choice of drinks: Tea, coffee, orange juice (not fresh orange) and plain water.
To avoid the noisy tour crowd, I prefer to saunter down to breakfast at around 9am onwards. Unfortunately you can't avoid the noisy "neighbours" in your room.
Parking is free within the pseudo shopping mall, but you need to get a waiver chit from a counter near the front desk. There's a pharmacy a stone throws away and plenty of eating spots, which really come alive at night. The locale is a little seedy with many "entertainment" outlets offering massages with a little extra, if that's your kinda thing.
There's also a supermart if you exit the hotel and head straight down the same path going to the breakfast hall without going up a flight of stairs.

The hotel room is in poor condition, and the Wi-Fi connection is extremely unreliable. While there is a dressing table in the room, there are no chairs provided. There is just one wall socket available for charging devices, and no other outlets near the bed. The shower room is not ideal due to the worn-out and leaking faucets.
The bed & bed sheet are dirty.

This is a really budget room which the hotel does not care for their clean and room environments. For the same price, able to get another hotel which nice and clean. The only things is the location of the hotel is good. Do request to change to a cleaner room but the receptionist said that all the room is the same condition.

Room is small and unclean .
Definitely will not choose this hotel if I know how they treat their customers.

It was a very good stay. The staff in the hotel are all very friendly and helpful in any enquiries that we have. The room rates are very reasonable and there is free wireless at the hotel lobby and in the room. The hotel is very accessible to shopping areas and there is alot of good food nearby. The rooms and toilet are clean. Overall i can rate it as value for money.

We made a reservation earlier for a family room. Upon arrival around 11pm, we were told that all family rooms were fully occupied. The receptionist provided us a standard room which was not a good value for money. TV channels were out of service and no fridge was provided. Plus no WIFI signal. The room interior was just like a two stars hotel. We called for housekeeping service but then the receptionist told us that the service will only be available from 930am onwards..

Pros:
1. The hotel is just operate their service for 5 months
2. Room Spacious
3. Bath room is clean
4. Spring Bed is very comfort
5. Walking distance finding foods, coffee. Taste of the food surrounding of the hotel is very good
6. Breakfast @food court of plaza sentosa, my favourite: "Nasi Goreng Kampung" - Traditional Fried Rice
7. Price..hmm...worth :)
8. Like to have lunch with soup @ the plaza sentosa foodcourt (2nd floor), the stall where this fat chinese guy and girl serving us (miss your soup a lot...)
9. If you need guidance for JB, just asking @front office. This FO Executive, mr. Rakesh Dhass,is so friendly. He supported us much.
Cons:
1. No refrigerator in the room
2. Free Breakfast only for one person for superior room guest (no info for other room type)
Our words:
We are so satisfied stay in this hotel. It would be our lucky fiding this hotel from internet and booked by phone calls coz we dont have credit cards to booked online.
Our experience stay in this hotel and the neighbourhood eliminates the thought that one ever warned/adviced us to be carefull at JB. We feel so comfort, and save.
If I come to JB again, definitely, we will choose in Grand Sentosa Hotel..See you GSH

not for very light sleeper.
Hello Mr. DEBANIK_B. You do not worry about culinary. Around the hotel you may have a lot of choices including local eateries, porridge, vegetarian till western food. The food cost it may spend around MYR. 5-10 per meal per person. It's all depends what kind of food you select and their item. Downstair the hotel you asked has Cafe. It's call Oldtown White Coffee for 24hours service. They also provide WiFi consider fast too. The Oldtown White Coffee cafe about the cost may spend a little bit expensive causes the class a bit higer than hawker place. 1 meal per person average the cheapest is take the cost around MYR.7-8 and normally is breakfast package.
To be honest the hotel rate now is more expensive comoare with before. Before the rate is super fantastic. But my personal is even hotel cost per night get higher but still very worth. Just for your information additional only, Malaysia's government is starting to collect tourist and local government tax per room per night. Means the hotel rate you pay must be add some mount for tax. That's compulsory and you can not hide this matter even you stay the cheapest hotel also you need to do.
Regarding about transportation go to Kuala Lumpur, from the hotel is not to far to Johor Bahru Bus Station. They are calling it Larking Bus Station. Johor Bahru has online taxi you may use like Uber or Grab Taxi. From the distance may take the cost MYR. 8-12 per way (around that because i forgotten also). If you take conventional taxi may double price and also need to negotiate with taxi driver causes they are never use metres machine.
From Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur normally is take 5hours. But average is only 4 to 4.5hours you may reach. It's depends about traffic during the way. For the bus ticket per person per way i am not sure and keep up to date. I think it should be still around MYR. 30++.
Hope my information if useful for you.
Personal Cheers,
Iwan Yulianto from Indonesia.
