Most affordable within the area. Walking distance from JB city square approximately 10-15minutes walk. You have to walk through the Zenith between Amari and Suasana to get to Hotel CIQ. Several of food shops nearby, mini grocery, indian restaurant, indonesian restaurant.

Basic amenities for a short term stay.
Small rooms no ample space to move around.
Top of fridge and safebox dusty.
No slipper provided (maybe upon request).
Toothbrush is hard.
Mineral Water refilling available at every floor. Approachable receptionists.
Friendly housekeepers.

Would consider again for a one night stay.

Just stayed over for one night to join my friends for Countdown of New Year. CIQ Hotel is within a 10-minute drive from Stulang Beach and the Duty Free Zone at City Square(but is not safe if you are alone to walk there, just get the reception to make a call for taxi and is just a few ringgits only. The small little clean room with a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi access(but working slow). Fitted with tiled floors, room at CIQ are equipped with air conditioning and a private bathroom with sample toiletries,a electric tea kettle with instant coffee/tea bag. The hotel has a front desk that is open 24/7. If you drive can park on the hotel premises for free. The is 2 local mini mart and local eatery just opposite the hotel. My room is a single room therefore is just good for 1 person cos the room is really small. But is fine with me for just one night, and air con work well but not the water heater. I like the quiet surrounding for a good sleep and the hotel is clean.

I choose this hotel because the review i read said that it is just 10 minutes walk from the CIQ building. Turn out there are so many hotels close to that building. The hotel rooms are clean. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. The receptionist is vey helpful when we told her we are going to the Resort World Sentosa. The wifi here is also excellent. But the hotel is quite far from the city, hence its very difficult for you to find something to eat especially dinner. The 2nd night our stay here, we end up having noodle in cup for dinner. So unless you only plan to stay for a night, I suggest you choose other hotels as there are so many hotels you can choose in JB.

It's a 10-minutes of walking from JB Sentral. Quite cheap. Less than RM100 per night. I stayed there for two nights. Free parking for the guests. Those who would like to visit Singapore without staying can use this hotel.

It was the wrong CIQ for us, there's another one in town that looked better.

They have hourly rates, and we did not see any other tourists.

It's very close to City Square mall and the train station and bus terminal as well as the Customs Quarantine and Immigration (CIQ) for the Singapore Woodlands.

The night receptionist was clumsy and had a hard time with our booking. We almost left.

Some of the rooms don't have windows.

They do try, but there are other hotels around.

I would recommend this hotel because:
1. It is located right next to CIQ - for those plan to go Singapore, you can walk to CIQ.
2. It is 150m walk to Ah Yong beef noodle in Restoran Yong Mui & Tan Kee Cathay Laksa in Restoran Shang Ji - you won't be hungry.
3. It costed me RM92.09 (including taxes) for a night stay in Superior room - Use Maybank credit card and www.agoda.com/maybank for booking [7% discount]
4. It is same size as Tune Hotel's Double Room (11 sq m) yet cheaper - Tune Hotel would charge me RM104 for a night on same date.
5. The ratio of en-suite bathroom to room was very balanced - Bathroom was very spacious and clean; room had sufficient walking space.
6. Comfort level was 8/10 - Air conditioning was strong; bed was clean and no funky smell; heater, water kettle, towels, toiletries and wardrobe were provided; full body mirror was attached on the wall in the room.

Points for improvements (but no complaints):
1. Queen bed was slightly too small for tall people.
2. TV was slightly pixelated
