Here to quarantine for 10days with my husband. First day checked in and found out only one bath towel inside the room, made a call to receptionist and one malay guy very politely mentioned will arrange for us. Waited for almost 30mins but yet never receive any towel. So we decided to made second call, but a lady told me we can shower first, however the towel will only send to us after 9pm. What a joke?! So expect me to shower after 9pm since I checked in to room at around 6.30pm. Also, when dinner time delivery food only one set of meal and WITHOUT any disposable cutleries. Called to receptionist and again need to wait. Front desk and f&b did not have any communication whether the room have one occupant or two? Fine. The next day of morning, second day of quarantine, again the breakfast meal we received only one set of meal and WITHOUT any forks and spoons. Really expect us to eat using hands? Again again and again. What a brand Hotel Jen by Shangri-La. Although we are here for quarantine but we are your paying guest, not stayed here for free. Worst hotel and service I have ever experienced so far.

Doing my 7 days quarantine in this hotel. By far the worst receptionist I've met and definitely holds the worst service. Came here at 2pm, was told can order food at anytime because everyone was hungry waited to clear from morning. Reached room at 4pm coz there were no rooms somehow. Ordered food straight away but was told it would be sent at 7pm due to kitchen occupied in dinner preparations. Finally made order at 6.15pm and was told 15mins waiting time. Called again at 8.30pm, food did not arrive and was told kitchen is busy so food will be sent at 9pm. A fried rice takes 3 hours to cook? What a joke! When asked for the receptionist name, her friend can tell her to use fake name instead while I listen to the whole conversation. Was told 1st receptionist name was Ei Theng and the one who asked to lie was siti. Don't even think it's their real name to begin with. What a joke to brand themselves as high standards yet all so low class. Bloody pay your workers well and train them properly on customer service. When u pay peanuts, all u get is monkeys like this. Would not recommend this place to anyone coz a budget hotel gives a better service than this. 🤦‍♂️

Their staffs are friendly, attentive and willing to help Their pool is awesome, my kids like to swim there and the view is nice Due to the epidemic, the variety of breakfast was much lesser, but we understand that and their restaurant staffs are trying their best to serve us.

I read about Jen Hotel by Shangrila before I made this booking. I did expect a 5 star service judging by the standard and prestige carried by the famous brand. What I expected was, to sum it up in a word: average. I was impressed by the staffs of the hotel in general. They were generally friendly, attentive and willing to help. Breakfast was fine although one would expect slight reduction in choices due to Covid-19 pandemic. The hotel as a whole was unfortunately a little run down. I am sure the place had seen better days. The rooms appear slightly aged and dusty. Quite a few of nearby restaurants are closed- again I suppose related to the pandemic. Parking was available for free which is a plus point. And a rather pleasant view of the harbour from the rooftop bar / swimming pool. P/s: don’t bother stepping into the dimsum restaurant. One star too many for the particular place.

Please inform the guests in advance about the changes on restaurant for breakfast to avoid confusion. The variety of breakfast was much lesser (at least 60% less I believe), probably due to Covid 19 pandemic. The HTMI cable connection between the TV and work table in Premier Room should be resumed, so that the guest can play our own movies/videos, as the hotel cable channels are too limited. The swimming pool (the one outside Sky Bar) is rather small. The Premier Room is spacious, with separate bedroom and living room. Automatic curtains control buttons, nice! The receptionists were nice and friendly.
