We were in JB for an overnight shopping trip, we decided to try out this hotel as the price was quite attractive and the ratings weren't too bad. We booked the king bed room over the weekend. Check in staff was polite, parking lots were plenty available. Albeit the hotel having an old facade, the rooms were clean and of a good size. Overall I think it serves its purpose as a room just to rest after going out all night. The toilet is a bit dated and small but still functional. Parking is safe so we had no issues parking our jeep in the hotel grounds.
The place is comfortable, clean and the staff there are friendly and helpful. Near to seafood stalls (ideally for dinner). Very accessible for those who drives and also near to city for grab pick-ups. The room is spacious though its outdated but its is very comfortable and value for money. For a budget hotel, it can be a 4/5 star rating. It is clean, spacious and comfortable regardless of its outdated concept and no toothbrush provided.
The Straits View Hotel is a classic. The minute you drive in you are already back in time. You could feel that at some point, this was the place the stay. The parking was very good an convenient. Also, you park under a roof in the open. The whole hotel is rather small but the room we had was big. There was ample space but the bathroom was small, which was a slight shock. The location is far enough from the city for it to be quiet and close enough for a quick drive. The breakfast was rather poor but the surrounding area is very nice. The view from the room is at the moment not so great as there is some construction happening. A very clean and nice place to stay.
Very spacious room but breakfast is not nice..menu breakfast is not change..on the last day stay in this hotel they only serve bread,2 types of cereal l,orange juice and tea only..the pillow in the room also is not comfortable..
The rooms are quite big with ample parking space. My room particularly, has got a huge glass window that oversee a beautifully maintained garden. It is not a huge or majestic garden but, well maintained. The breakfast spread is a bit poor as there were not many people staying in, I assume and therefore, the limited spread. However, for the price, there is nothing much to moan about and the staffs are generally quite friendly.
