We stayed at the Paddy house for 3 days but wished we had stayed longer. It is the perfect place to stay in Langkawi if you want to be centrally located in the island, far from the crowd and with perfect views. The complex is really well maintained with great attention to details. Gundrun and David are lovely people -...

We enjoyed a lovely week here with my three grown up children and partners. A very peaceful setting with beautiful sunsets. We stayed in the Farmer's House and Paddy House. Both houses delightful and authentic but Paddy House a little small for 3 adults! You also have to be ok sharing accommodation with resident Geko! Having the pool virtually to...

We had a wonderful 4 days here, relaxing and tranquil. The owners, David and Gudrun, were super friendly and organised everything for us. Our two young boys were in their element, lots of animals and birds to spot wandering around the gardens, and swimming in the pool. Your own car is definitely needed though as it is in the middle...

Our stay was arranged by my brother and so we didn't know what we could expect. Gudren and David great service started with a pick-up at the airport. A promising start while introduced to some' insights of the island by David. Our Kampong was great, liked the veranda most besides the PERFECT sunsets of course! Flowers and a fruits were...

If you are looking for a peaceful stay away from the masses and have transport, this place is wonderful! We had a 2 bedroom house and mostly self-catered and it was bliss. The owners were really helpful when we wanted help, but otherwise happy to leave us to ourselves as we enjoyed the amazing landscape, pool and so on. The...

While I found this place very peaceful n serene ie away from the tourist scene, I felt the expected 'Malaysian' hospitality was missing. Breakfast wasn't very exciting ie 1 boiled egg , toast n cereal! I was hoping for malaysian nasi lemak or even something more like a continental brekky. Our rooms weren't cleaned regularly - didn't like having sanitary...

Dear Eleanor, first of all thank you for the feedback in your review, but we think it needs a bit of clarification from our side. Regarding your comment about the breakfast and cleaning service, it is clearly stated on our website that Sunset Valley is a collection of self-catering heritage Malay holiday houses and is not a hotel with daily...

We would thoroughly recommend this resort if you are looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy meeting interesting people. We had read the information about Sunset Valley and knew what to expect- we didn't want a five star hotel, but wanted to have the freedom of a self catering holiday with the added benefit of the swimming pool and company...

Hi Jeff and Christine, we trust you had a safe journey back home. We miss you here at Sunset Valley and hope Christine makes the same great choice for your holiday destination next year. We then can enjoy another awesome seafood BBQ in the pavilion.

Firstly, the hosts David and Gudrun were very welcoming and made both my girlfriend and I extremely comfortable upon arriving. Their knowledge of the island was fantastic and all their suggestions, whether it was places to view, restaurants to eat at, or where to best go for a spa/massage were nothing short of amazing. We spent 9 nights in the...

Hello Martin and Debbie. Thanks for the lovely review. I have decided that I like flattery very much! We enjoyed your company too and we also love fresh fish done on the BBQ! Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sunset Valley is located in the middle of the main island of Langkawi's 99 island archipelago overlooking the beautiful rice paddies with a view to the 500 million year old geological formation and rain forest. Our resort has 6 traditional Malay houses for rent, all with inside and outside living areas, kitchen, veranda, air conditioning and western style luxury bathrooms. There is a swimming pool and pavilion with BBQ facilities in a common area. We also offer breakfast as an optional extra on request. In our little convenience store our guests can buy food and drinks for meal preparation in their own houses. This is especially convenient for late arrivals. We are happy to help and advise our guests choose the most suitable island activities for them. The most popular activities are: snorkeling or scuba diving, mangrove boat tours, luxury boat cruises, island hopping, jungle walking, kayak tours, SPA and massage treatments, and many more.Another great way to discover the island is by car or motorbike which we are happy to book for you. ... more   less
