We booked the Straits House, the newest of a series of themed houses at the Temple Tree Resort. An excellent holiday with two families occupying all four of the rooms. Nicely decorated and comfortably appointed. The use of the private pool was great. Easy to get around to the nearby beach and other attractions in Langkawi via Grab. Would certainly return to the Temple Tree Resort for a future visit.
We stayed at Temple Tree during October 2022, as a family of 4 with children ages 12 and 9, and with friends who had 3 young children. We stayed in Plantation 5, and our friends in Plantation 6. We were thoroughly impressed with Temple Tree, and wouldn't hesitate to visit again. The accommodation was very generous, and during our week long stay it was lovely to have so much space, especially after a cramped stay in Singapore. The children had their own bedroom and bathroom, and we also had a living area with sofas. The colonial style buildings are utterly charming, and have a unique shabby chic style. Don't expect 5* polished clinical hotel rooms- the charm of these spaces is in the rustic style. That said, the rooms were immaculate, with a very efficient housekeeping team visiting daily. Lots of thoughtful touches show how much effort has been put into making this a relaxing stay for guests- mosquito spray and plug-in repellents are provided, gorgeous local toiletries (amazing conditioner!) are plentiful, tea, coffee and drinking water are replenished daily, and upon arrival a fridge full of soft drinks, which can be replenished for a minimal fee. A small detail which my 12 year old loved was the tea flasks so that you could take hot or cold drinks out and about. The bed was incredibly comfortable (so much so that I have now ordered a new mattress for home!). The staff here also really shone, friendly, thoughtful and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. We really felt they did everything in their power to make our stay as relaxing and happy as possible. The food in the restaurant was excellent (I am a food writer by trade!)- A plentiful mix of Malaysian classics, and many dishes to suit Western palates, and also cater for fussier kids. We tried the Nasi Lemak, Nasi Goreng, Laksa, satay skewers, chicken curry,... and many more! The kids menu was ideal and all of the food was great value, and meant that we ate in the Temple Tree restaurant on many occasions during our stay. The main pool was open during our stay, and really lovely- the kids had a great time there, plus it's in view of the restaurant so ideal for older kids to be able to stay in while parents can have a drink or meal whilst keeping a bit of an eye out. The second pool was closed while we were there, but we didn't feel this impacted our stay at all. The grounds are beautiful- lush and incredibly well kept by a busy grounds team. We loved seeing the frogs, geckos, woodpeckers and even hornbills around during our stay. We will carry away wonderful memories of our stay here, and not one gripe. Well done to team Temple Tree for creating such a paradise. We hope to visit again one day. …
There are not enough superlatives to describe this place. It's beautiful, serene and relaxing. We stayed for a week with friends visiting us from the UK and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay as a group of 9. Staff go above and beyond - little touches like bringing glasses of iced water to the pool made our stay wonderful. Staff are friendly, kind and took time to engage with our children - nothing was too much for them. The room are quaint and interesting - and much bigger than a traditional hotel which is ideal when you have children with you. Fresh drinking water is replenished in rooms everyday, gorgeous toiletries, and everything you need to combat the mozzies. They really have thought of everything. Our daughter was poorly while we stayed, they gave us a thermometer and checked in on her - super service. Food was really good, lots of choice and reasonably priced. Breakfast at the big table overlooking the pool is amazing. I would not hesitate to visit again - and will definitely be back!…
We stayed for five nights in the colonial house which was ideal for our trip. The food is good which a great range of local and some western foods and the cocktail maker made some of the best drinks we’ve had! The pool is almost 25m and the surrounding grounds nice to walk around. Location is about 20 mins walk to the closest beach pantai Cenang but you can get a very cheap Grab car if you wish. We would stay there again.
Classic Malaya architecture with elegant deco resort. Timeless. Beautiful scenery with clever landscaping, shielded tropical canopies and lush greenery. Tranquility sneaks in once I've stepped my foot down into the resort compounds. Charming ancient Malaya preserve in such elegance. World class amenities with smart tv (Netflix accessible). We indulged ourselves with the first room which is the Estate House. Very huge room and bathrooms which I absolutely love. High celling and cool. Gorgeous practical decoration. On the 2nd night till the rest of our hideaway for 3 nights, we were nestled in a charming, beautiful Negeri Sembilan house. Frozen in time, stood majestically, a Malay architectural wonder. I was in awe as if I went back in time to a Kampung house of my great grandfather that I vaguely visualised. Huge bathroom, huge rooms, huge living space. I WAS IN LOVE. Resort staffs were warm and friendly, feline staff included. Kudos to Tiger, Luna and Tofu. Send my love to them. Restaurant staff were very nice the food was sublime. Nasi Goreng temple tree and ayam percik is to die for. We've had the chance to have our lunch, breakfast and dinner there. The pool was awesome and we managed to spend time at the pool house playing billiards. I will never forget temple tree and I will book temple tree if I have the chance to go there next time. …
My daughter and I spent 5 blissful nights at this beautiful hotel, it is one of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed in. I normally go for lower budget options but as a special treat, we decided to book here, and we counted our blessings every day that we had. The buildings are all stunning and so unique, The staff were all so lovely, Rena, who served my coffee every morning automatically was so sweet, friendly and helpful, everyone was. The grounds staff take such great care of their gorgeous lawned, shady gardens and pools. The breakfasts were fabulous and we had some dinners and lunches here too, also wonderful esp as we are both vegetarians- it was nice to get some Malay veggie food, as well as Western options too. There are lovely cats too and we even had one adopt us for the 5 days which made it even more homely there. There are a few bikes you can use and cycle around the local area which is fun, they also have a games room as well as the gorgeous pools. There's a lovely short walk to a great sunset point nearby, at the sea by Tapaz, where you can view magnificent sunsets too. I would highly recommend you to treat yourself to a few days at Temple Tree if you are visiting Langkawi, for us, you cannot top this one! Thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcomed and cared for, we would def come back and will highly recommend to others! We felt so lucky to stay with you.…
Staying at the Temple Tree is a fantastic experience. Upon arrival we were greeted by Irene who offered us refreshing flannels and a glass of Prosecco for the adults, a fabulous start. Irene was always on hand to make our stay special and it's partly thanks to her that our time there was so comfortable and special, thank you! I say 'partly' because all of the staff were accommodating, especially those in the restaurant. What makes this place different is that you get the impression the staff are empowered to make decisions on questions that make your stay more memorable. They always went the extra mile. Our room (Johor 1) was very spacious, more like staying in a bungalow than a hotel room. The building and furnishing are in a kampung style but modern features (air-conditioning, TV, etc.) to make your time there even more comfortable. The food in the restaurant is very tasty, I thoroughly recommend eating there! Thank you Irene and crew, we look forward to coming back!…
