I never expect in the center of Langkawi, there is a hidden resort like Alamanda Villas Langkawi. Staying for 4 days and 3 nights totally gave me a great holiday and a getaway from the busy life of the city.
Thank you to Mr. Aliff, the great host of the place. He shared all the information about Langkawi, attractions places need to go, and nice places for dining either for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
This place is quiet and plus you can feel the feeling of privacy the best part is during wet weather, you can see the mist of the area and a very cold ambiance.
I really love the view of the sunset with the paddy field, totally gives a relaxing mood to yourself.
Definitely, I will check in again next year!

Din

Unlike Bali where you need to travel 2 to 3 hours from airport to another busy and nopacked town, Alamanda Villa is just 20 to 30 minutes drive (very dependable on the driver) from airport. Trust me, you won't feel the time if you likes mountain and lots of greens view. Is like driving through a rural areas.
Now, this place comes with 2 rooms villa. And i think 1 room unit is very limited. You get to see sunset from the pool or enjoy from your wooden house (kampung house) unit. Of course depends which seasons as Malaysia weather can get very cloudy.
The place is clean and quiet. Simple and Chris (the boss) is ever friendly and fun to chit chat with. Enjoy the view of paddy field for dinner at nearby restaurant.
If you love to learn about Mahsuri, her mausoleum is just about less than 5 minon drive away. Want to know why she's so famous and how she cursed Langkawi for 7 generation? Drop by please.
Good about this place is that is less than 30 min drive to other popular destination like Sky Bridge, Cenang beach, wildlife park and many more attractions. If you love beach, then this won't be a place you want to stay though.

A really great beautiful place, tucked away only short grab ride for most things

The apartment was far more than expected, and forget the so called “experts review ” who suggest not to have A/c this is jungle you NEED it… well I deffo did

The team was every so helpful, full of support and a smile on each occasion

The pool area had great views, and everywhere was immaculate ! Some real care and attention demonstrated and I’m so glad we had the opportunity to visit as guests… just wished we had spent longer .

Next time 💚

Thank you Mark & Sonia

Don't stay here if you like air-conditioned comfort. Booked and paid in advance for 2 nights for our 20th wedding anniversary. Saw the manager Eddy for 30 seconds while we were there. We soon discovered the large living area in our two room villa DID NOT have air-conditioning. It was 40 degrees and there was no way to cool the room. This was also the kitchen area. We felt sick. Eddy's solution was to stay in the air conditioned bedroom which was tiny and had no TV. There was one sheet on the uncomfortable bed. It was crazy hot. No solution was given, and a refund for the second night of $200 was refused. After 2 wonderful weeks in Malaysia this was the worst place we have stayed. Avoid.

We booked supposedly their only one bedroom unit. Upon our arrival we found the unit was next to a busy noisy road with balcony facing the road. There was only one small room with a bed that had a very uncomfortable mattress, a top sheet with no duvet. Room was very dark with limited lighting. The attached kitchen had no windows or fan. . Bathroom shower had no door or shower curtain so water flooded the room. We asked for a different room that had some similarity to the photos shown on their website but none were available. We have traveled for many years to many countries and have never been so dissatisfied with our accommodations. We spent one night there and left the next morning in search of other accommodations. I requested a refund from Agoda. I also wrote the owner explaining why we were requesting a refund. I did not receive a response from either of them.

This is a perfectly located villa. It is in the centre of the island which means, with car hire, it is 20 mins to most places. The view over the fields and mountains makes for a stunning view of the sunset, which can be viewed in the infinity pool.
We went with our 2 kids but I would certainly say this is a great location for couples looking for some romance away from the busier beach side locations. We loved being there with our family as it isn't busy and at night the only sounds keeping you up are the monkeys and birds.
Brian was brilliant in accommodating us as we arrived earlier than we had expected. Nothing was too much hassle for him, offering advice when we needed it.
I certainly loved the small touch of dried rice leaves to give the room a beautiful aroma.
By far, one of my most favourite places I have stayed in.

This was our first holiday in Malasia and I did a fair amount of reading before deciding on Langkawi as our 'chill out' break for 8 nights after sight seeing in Singapore. No regrets and so glad we chose this beautiful island. It turned out to be one of the best holidays we have ever had (& we have done a fair amount of travelling over the years) and all the better for staying in this beautiful, small development of privately owned relatively new villas.

Alamanda is situated more or less in the centre of the island, facing west with views over the paddy fields & beyond, but with a car or moped it takes only 15 - 20 mins max to reach any part of the island. There are 4 spacious, very well kitted out villas, all individually designed, built in lovely garden grounds which also has a pool (very clean) and sunbathing deck with outside shower & additional toilet/shower for convenience. Although a self catering property, the hosts, who are charming & extremely helpful, offered us the choice of breakfast (at an additional cost) which was very good value for money & set us up for the day. Fresh ground coffee/tea & juice, home made omelette or pancakes with a good selection of jams/syrup etc & additional toast or bread.

Our villa (Almanda Minang) was one of the 2 bedroomed properties, with lounge/kitchen area, full bathroom (2 sinks) & a lovely furnished patio area where we sat most evenings watching the sun set over the island. The villa was very well equipped/furnished & towels/sheets of good quality & changed every 2 days. There is no washing machine, but housekeeping took care of that courtesy of the local laundry of which there are many dotted around the island.

When we initially booked our stay, the owners offered us the option of airport pick up, which we accepted & thereafter took their advice to hire a car for ease of getting around and day to day exploring. Roads are all extremely good to drive on, well lit at night, very well sign posted & not at all busy, so would definitely recommend (or a moped) to give you more flexibility.

The whole island, whether it be for dining out, shopping or visiting the many attractions, is excellent value for money (I have done a few reviews of some of the places we visited), but we are all agreed that Alamanda, for us anyway, was the perfect place to base ourselves & for anyone happy to stay out of the main town it really should be considered.

Any questions please feel free to ask.....

We were staying for one weekend at the Alamanda Villas.
We asked for a transfer from the airport and we were charged 40 Ringgit, even the local taxi driver charge only 25 Ringgit. This is not very nice to be overcharged when you arrive.

After arriving at the villa, we realized that there is no cafe on the property, which was actually described on Airbnb and that there are no supermarkets and no restaurants or shops in walking distance, so we had to call a taxi again.

We had to share the swimming pool with another 3 villas, which can be very crowded and a little bit uncomfortable.

The villa itself is o.k, a little bit overpriced, because the interior is really cheap and not really. You should like animals, cause there a lot noisy geckos and some monkeys just next to the villas, which are looking for food day- and nighttime.

A couple of cats are also on the property and if you don't close your doors, they will be in your bed room very fast.
The staff also warned us that they already saw a scorpion and a cobra just next to the swimming pool.
All in all a nice weekend, but our next holiday in Langkawi will be somewhere else.

This is a great get away from the city whereby you can have the feeling of relaxation with the nature.

It is close to cenang beach and also kuah town. I personally prefer to go cenang beach coz there is more options of activities. Minus out the duty free choice compare to Kuah town.

Stayed in the Hilltop Villa for 5 nights and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It's position in the middle of the island makes it so easy to get around. There are some great places to eat locally. The night market is close by on Tuesdays. The gardens are just stunning. The villas are well appointed with great decks to sit and watch the shadows move over the paddy fields, stunning sunsets, the monkeys in the trees, the bird life.... all with a duty free gin and tonic in your hand and great food. Hire a car ( or motorbike) to get around and do yourself a favour. Escape the teeming masses and sit in your own piece of paradise.
