We chose Tenbusu house as its more traditional and close to Malay culture; this is something you must experience! It is open house with no seal wall! You are exposed to jungle and can see beautiful view as it is located on the hill. The furniture are very good clean. This house is facilitated with all you require. A nice...

We had booked Emas House for 5 pax from 28-29/3. The road trip is fine for normal car to drive to. The Emas House has a breathtaking jungle view and small kitchen with all necessary cookware. We bring our own food for BBQ. In the evening, we hang around The Dusun with our dog and we had a great day...

Went there as a couple with the expectations that it is going to be like camping. There were a couple of things that surprised me when we arrived. Firstly, it was very very quiet. Which is good because we wanted something private. There wasn't much of a check-in (or check-out) process. No details were verified except my name which the...

Took a taxi up as arranged by the Dusun and stayed in the Berembun house for 2 nights. Best 'outdoor' experience of my life. I would ask anyone that is planning to go to the Dusun to wake up around 2-3 am and experience the awesome milky way right in front of your eyes. Seriously a pretty epic experience. Went...

Stayed at Berembun for 1 night with my wife. I have tried a few different places like Dusun concept. But we enjoyed Dusun the most. Basically, we enjoyed the nature. the view from our room and all the other amenities. No complaints at all. The staffs there were friendly and the breakfast was awesome. Would recommend to my friends and...

Three generations of our family spent 4 days/3 nights in the Dusun (Sora house - The Japanese themed house) and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The Dusun appears to be very popular, and with limited availability it is best to book early. We booked a month in advance and so were able to choose precisely which house we wanted. Point...

Thank you Duncan for a very helpful and detailed review. It also gives a clear picture of what guests might expect when they come to our open-plan eco resort; sometimes the unexpected. I am happy that you liked the food. But I would like to point out - for the sake of other guests - that for a family group...

The Dusun has a very tranquil environment surrounded by green lush virgin forest full of wildlife. It's a place for serenity, peace and meditation with excellent facilities such as self-contained kitchen, swimming pool, and very comfortable bed. The moment we meander along the uphill gravel road to the cliff top reception, we were in awe with the beauty of the...

That is a fabulous description of the jungle trek! We do get a great mix of people from all over the world, and all over Malaysia, so I am glad that you took the opportunity to make friends.

Stay in Berembun house for 1 night at 23Dec with my wife. Overall we love the greeny surrounding and quiet environment. Quite a relaxing place to calm down our body and mind. Cook our own dinner in the kitchen, they only have 2 ageing pan, stove and simple spice e. g. Salt, sugar, and oil. Bring your own cookware and...

I am glad that you enjoyed the Dusun setting and we really appreciate your feedback on the house. Since this review we have replaced the cookware in Berembun House. We will still stick to the basic spices - salt, pepper, cooking oil and turmeric, because people tend to bring what they need for the specific dish they are cooking. As...

It was a short getawat after a busy year end. Stayed at Perling House. Not exactly a solo with the companied of wings, lizard and melodies from the nature :) Brought my TWC mint tea along, a cup of hot tea looing out the greens, delicious Minagkabau dinner. Walkabout the orchard. Immersed myself in the mother nature. Love the tranquility.

We stayed at Perling Bukit. The room was cozily fit for the 3 of us. Though I struggled with my sensitive nose for the first few minutes (the wall at the bed area was a bit dusty), I truly enjoyed my stay there. The young lady that greeted us was pleasantly nice and so does the staffs working there. Always...

Many thanks for your review. It is always encouraging for us when guests appreciate the quiet pleasures of this lovely hillside. We will give the Perling walls a good scrub. Timber does need more care, but we prefer it all the same.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Dusun is a small resort on a fruit orchard with views of the Berembun rainforest reserve. Set on a small hill, the Dusun rents out houses that are set apart from each other not only to offer peace and privacy, but also to catch the winds with traditional architecture and enjoy lovely views. Each house has a fully equipped kitchen for those who love to cook and a barbecue on an open deck for lingering dinners. Breakfast is provided while lunch and dinner can be catered if you prefer not to cook.We are just an hour south of Kuala Lumpur. KLIA or Kuala Lumpur International airport is in between us and Kuala Lumpur city so we're the perfect nature escape for those in transit who would prefer to give the city a miss. The Dusun honors sustainable practices in farming and building, which has created a beautiful and healthy environment. As the family enjoys a good relationship with the local community, the business only hires from the nearby kampungs and shops from small entrepreneurs or other interesting responsible businesses as much as possible. All activities that guests enjoy here were created to raise awareness of Malaysia’s beautiful natural heritage and support local traditions, communities and NGOs. ... more   less
