Quirky small hotel with unusual "rock" theme but nothing to do with the Flintstones
Exceptional Manager, helpful and very friendly.
Large well appointed room on 2nd floor reached by lift. Huge bed, large bathroom with shower and bath
Local traditional breakfast was delicious option and included in the room rate
Would definitely stay again

This hotel is operated by owners Debbie & Chong and highly recommended due to its strategic location and warm hospitality.
Chong is also an artist and all the lovely paintings exhibited in the hotel are painted by him.
Rooms are very spacious and well designed with good quality interior and fittings. We are very amazed there are even Coway & Nepresso machines provided in all the rooms.
There is even a private whisky bar and wine room at Ground floor, very tastefully decorated for hotel guests.
It is a lovely boutique hotel with only 10 rooms but it is definitely not classified as a budget hotel when all fittings are tastefully done and room rates are reasonable with american breakfast included.
Location is also very good as it is walking distance to many eateries and concubine lane is also walking distance from this hotel too.
The eatery across the hotel serves very yummy fried chicken wings and claypot lohseefun.
Big Mom Beancurd Ipoh is just a few doors away and their soyabean is really very yummy.
In short, please book Bedrock hotel early if you have intention to visit Ipoh soon.
5 stars for location, hospitality and cleanliness.

So that you know, I stayed at multiple hotels prior to staying at this one in Ipoh:

Marina Bay Sands in Singapore
Hilton Garden Inn in Singapore
Le Meridien in Kota Kinabalu
MOV at Kuala Lumpur

And I have to say, out of ALL these places, Bedrock is the best , by far. The largest room, two sinks, view of a very local street. The location is the best because the street is quiet but it is near the vibrant areas of Ipoh - and all the food. Across the street are restaurants where the locals eat - one of which serves only two things on the menu so you KNOW it's focused and good (Clay Pot and Chicken Wings). There's also a few Nasi Ganja places around the corner. The markets and food congregations are also very nearby, with laundry a very short walk away. Location was phenomenal.

The service and cleanliness is exquisite Very friendly people. Lobby is kept clean as well. I feel that since it's a smaller hotel, every experience of the stay is looked after and they can really focus on the quality. I highly recommend staying here.

I am blown away by this hidden gem! The owner, Debbie is a super friendly host and she recommended many places to eat and visit; giving us a map to help us along the way and made it a point to check on us every time we come back from our day out. That’s great passion and service for you! Our room is a duplex; cosily furnished with a Coway water dispenser and Nespresso. Soft drinks in the mini fridge are complimentary. Towels, toiletries, hand soap, bathing gel, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer and iron are all provided. Wifi is also free! The bathroom, equipped with a rain shower is huge by a 3 star hotel standard and the water pressure was superb. The room was clean and well kept. Though our room faces the road in front of the hotel, it was still relatively quiet at night. Pillows and bolsters were soft and comfortable and helped us unwind at the end of each day. Breakfast was included; simple fare to start the day. The hotel is centrally located; restaurants and places of interest can be reached on foot where you can buy Ipoh’s famous produce, drink Ipoh’s white coffee and eat Ipoh kuey teow. And if you walk a little further, there’s also Ipoh’s old town where many other eateries and kopitiams are located; just about 5 minutes away by car. Bedrock also offers limited free parking for its’ guests. My family and I are very happy with our stay in Bedrock. We have found a place called ‘home’ for our future visits to Ipoh!

To tell you the truth, i was not expecting much seeing that this hotel is located at a place where most budget hotel is. But as soon as i stepped into the hotel lobby itself, i was amazed with the interior and the best part is when i stepped into the room.superb! i really love the fact that they provide coway water dispenser and my favourite is bidet in the toilet. im amazed. usually when i stayed at any hotels i would have bought bottles of mineral water since im travelling with toddler, hence i need clean water to make his milk and etc but this time, no worries at all with coway inside the room. another thing that i like is that the hotel staff put parking coupon for our car parked in front of the hotel. so thougthful. overall im very satisfied with this hotel and will definitely come back to stay here during my next visit to ipoh. Well done and keep it up!

Excellent hotel and service. Pleasantly surprised by the interior, room, and amenities.
Great host, knowledgeable, friendly. Breakfast included in room rate, they have security guard watching over the cars at night, has chartered parking for guests. Room was made up without even asking for it.
Amenities: complete toiletries and towels, coway water dispenser, nespresso, tea, popcorn and canned drink in fridge.
Reservation: I can tell that this hotel will always be fully booked normally. We came during CMCO where no interstate travel allowed, we didn’t make any reservation. Walked in and immediately give a room with bath tub. All in all, service and room is on par with 5 star hotel. 👍🏻 kudos

This hotel is a real hidden gem in Ipoh. Although its exterior doesn't look impressive, I like its interior design. Its location is superb, within walking distance to many good eating places as well as biscuit and candy shops in the new town. It's also near to Ipoh Parade and old town, within 5 minutes by car. The room is spacious and clean. What I like most is it comes with filtered water dispenser (hot, warm and cold). There is also Nespresso, with 2 capsules given free and free soft drinks in the fridge. You wouldn't miss some Astro channels as it's subscribed by the hotel. All its ten rooms are smoke free. On top of that, its services is great especially the receptionist who's very friendly and helpful. The hotel provides complimentary transfer to the railway station. I will definitely come back to this marvellous place when I visit Ipoh again.

The Bedrock Hotel is a cozy establishment and a labour of love by a lovely couple. It is owner managed with a level of care and hospitality that will likely exceed your expectations. They really do go the extra mile with a personal touch to make guests feel comfortable. They are also excellent ambassadors for Ipoh, assisting with good eats/dining venue suggestions and reservations when necessary. Foodies will not be disappointed.

The hotel is a great example of artisanal passion. A private collection of interesting rocks and generous artwork adorn the premises in a thoughtfully appointed interior. The rooms are large, clean, well maintained and comfortable with superb amenities. There is even a Nespresso coffee machine and a hot/cold filtered water dispenser which is very thoughtful to provide. The bedding is also very good. We got excellent sleep. It is superb for a family getaway in Ipoh. We stayed for two nights and are planning to come back again. This little hotel is a gem!

Ipoh may be a small town but it is a foodie's paradise. Several eating destinations are within walking distance from the hotel with others a short drive away. You'll need a car to get around town anyway. Just ask the resident owners for suggestions and you won't be disappointed where they might send you. This is top notch hospitality that really made us feel at home.

Stayed at Bedrock during May Day long weekend. The minute you step into Bedrock, it feels like visiting an old friend’s home. Debbie, Mr Chong and Yee are so friendly and make us feel so welcomed. We stayed at room no 10, although the room is relatively small, we love the fact that the room has everything you need, the attention to details is amazing! The bed is super comfy and comes with 2 bolsters (you hardly see this in hotels in Asia). Room has enough power sockets which are easily located (necessity these days when you need to charge your phone and ipad), water dispenser with hot and cold options (rather than plastic water bottles), bath tub which actually comes with bath salt and Japanese toilet seat which has bidets and iron&ironing board stored neatly in the cupboard.

We had to go Taiping early in the morning and Yee made sure that we have enough snacks since he said the journey can take a while, this is despite the fact that we already had a breakfast at the hotel! Debbie was very helpful in recommending us places to go and places to eat. The restaurant she recommended, turns out to be one of the best meals we had in Ipoh.

Hotel location is great, there are a lot of local eateries near the hotel. Fujiwara tofufa is great! We walked to the old town a couple of times, it is an easy walk with nice murals and old shophouses along the way. The famous beansprout chicken (Lou Wong and Onn Kee) are also within walking distance from the hotel.

Definitely highly recommend Bedrock!

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Bedrock Hotel. The room was extremely clean, the location was very convenient for exploring Old Town, and the staff was welcoming and helpful.

Details like providing a filtered water dispenser in the room were greatly appreciated.

Debbie is so knowledgeable about the area and had some great recommendations about places to visit. We're recommending the Bedrock Hotel to some friends who are visiting Ipoh next month.
