Although finding the hotel was a bit roundabout, parking was available and under shady trees. The room itself was comfortable and the lady hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Taman DR was a short walk away ... however, it was a stuffy windless afternoon. All in all, I like the hotel ... !

This hotel is abt 6 months old - so everything is spanking new and clean - bed sheets, towels, bathroom. The staff (Thesigan and others) were cheerful and helpful. On the first night we took a triple room (3 pax) - rather small and tight for 3 pax. Our 2nd night we took a double room (2 pax) and staff was nice to upgrade us to a deluxe, which had space and so we were comfortable.
Ample reserved (free) parking lots. Hotel is away from the hustle and bustle - so rather peaceful.

Absolutely in the middle of no where amd a 30 minute (at least) walk to the shopping malls. I wouldn't stay here long.

The rooms are miniscule and we had baby cockroaches in our bathroom everyday.. Where are they coming from?!

Stay here for a short short stay but there isn't many restaurants around.

This was the first time we ended up in a hotel that we could not choose ourselves! Coming back into Malaysia from overseas, we were assigned to this hotel by the local health department. As soon as we knew the name of the hotel, we looked online and called the hotel manager, Mr Vilu to get a better idea of what to bring with us. He was very nice in answering all our questions like what type of connection did the room TV have so I could bring the correct cable to connect my laptop (HDMI btw). Being confined in a hotel room for 2 weeks is not something we had ever done before so having a laptop with internet was going to be our main activity during our confinement. The hotel provides adequate free wifi but we could also use our own internet in our phone as a hot spot (good coverage in our room). Luckily for us, we had a room with a window so we could see traffic passing by as well as mountains on the horizon and daylight! If you are a light sleeper, make sure to bring cotton balls for your ears at night as there is constant traffic on the main road nearby (we slept like babies thanks to our ear plugs). The room was clean, the beds comfortable, the water hot in the shower, the AC working perfect with a ceiling fan so can control the air flow. TV screen was nice quality LG with good sound so we could enjoy documentaries, movies from our laptop (we did not watch any of the 5 lame mainstream channels). The food was delivered to our room (another novelty for us, obliged during quarantine!) and it was surprisingly varied (mix of Malaysian and intl cuisine) and abundant enough prepared by a caterer hired by the hotel. Once a day, you can order food delivery but we never felt the need to as the standard catered food was satisfying. We could communicate easily with the hotel staff via a whatsapp group or phone and our few special requests were answered right away. Mr Vilu and the hotel staff are probably the best asset for this hotel and should we ever need an hotel room in this area, we would not hesitate to come back at the Eastana Hotel. Thank you for making our mandatory stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Contrary to what we heard from other quarantined people in other parts of Malaysia about food and rooms, we have no critics about this hotel, a very good choice by the local gvt!

I enjoyed my 3 nights here. They upgraded my room to window which was nice. They sorted out a couple of issues I had with the room quick and all the staff were friendly. Every time I went out in the morning they would clean my room and make it nice. The wifi is good and shower hot. Location isn't perfect but it's ok a 20 minute walk to the city centre. There is a couple of restaurants or cafes close by luckily to eat brunch. I'd happily stay again I enjoyed this hotel.

I made a trip to Ipoh and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel i stumbled upon. Because i reached Ipoh late, i didn't want to stay in my regular hotel and decided to check in to a smaller one. I am glad to have stumbled upon this place called Eastana Hotel. It was very reasonably priced, clean, and all basic amenities were there. I took the family room and as i walked into the room, i was amazed and to get a WOW from my wife is not easy. The room was clean and comfortably furnished. The beds and pillows was very comfortable. Rooms comes with A/C, hot water shower, Flat screen TV with Astro, drinking water, kettle, enough sockets for my LT and phone chargers and best of all free Wifi.

It is situated just next to the Ipoh YMCA which is a stones throw from town. I liked the locality because, during the night it is quite. There is also a small cafe at the lobby area and the staff are friendly and attentive. On hand to welcome me was the owners of the hotel, Velu and Ron. They are friendly and quick to help recommend food outlets and tourist spots.

Overall it was a pleasant and wonderful visit to the Hotel. I highly recommend those travelling to Ipoh to stay at this place.

I like to take this opportunity to wish Velu and Rone the best in their future endeavours.

I am a flight attendant and i travel constantly. Backpacking to Perak with high hopes, but i went home with bed bugs bite. At 2 am, it was noisy as the wall are thin and I can hear people talking. A group of people saying they need to check room for suspicious activities and I let them checked, but i am really not sure who are they and why they are checking rooms at 2 am. Male receptionist was not friendly and do not want to give info. Thanks.

I stayed here based on the previous reviews, and it is near to the venue of my conference. It is situated very near to the Kinta Riverfront Walk. The hotel is situated at the shop-houses area with lots of one-way streets, so maybe you could get lost a bit. It is very cheap and clean and very cozy too. The room rate does not include breakfast but there is a little cafe at the lobby if you want to have one. There is a spa as well (not sure about the price though). The parking spaces are plenty and free of charge if staying at the hotel. The room was on the small size and very compact, but it was okay with me staying by myself. The toilet was okay and quite moderate in size. There was a lift, so it was easy for me to bring loads of my stuff for the conference. At night, it was quite dark and quiet (except from the highway road beside the hotel). As for choices of restaurants nearby, I guess it was very limited especially at night, thus you need to to the town instead. Overall, I will stay here again, and definitely will recommend to others especially if you are on a tight budget.

This hotel is strategically located. It is next to YMCA,Dr Seenivasagam park and the famous Hindu temple in Ipoh. The main city of ipoh is only 5 min away. Courteous and friendly staff. The rate of RM85 for a standard room on Fri-Sat is considered very cheap. They provide complimentary newspaper, toiletries and drinks. Good selection of Tv channels too
