Nice swimming pool area suitable for family. Breakfast needs improvement .. quality not good enough. The rooms need urgend upgrading .. yes actually the entire hotel needs an urgent and complete makeover. And the staff is not friendly/efficient ... need more regular training and supervision. The management ... no presence ?

The hotel is strategically located by the beach side and less than 300m from the Jetty to Pangkor Island. Rooms need to be refurbished, toilet are stained, toilet's door is cracked, spring mattress are spoiling too . No towels were provided in the room until we requested. No towels were provided at the hotel swimming pool. Receptionists were tired and... More

We had a restful sleep as the hotel was located in the quiet part of Lumut. It is definitely s good place to stay if you want to relax. The condition of the room was okay but a new coat of paint would do wonders to peeling paint from the wall beside the bathroom.

If you can, do not stay here. We stayed here as a transit hotel before our trip to Pangkor Laut. Of course I am not comparing this to a five star rated, a member of Small Luxury Hotel of the World member Pangkor Laut Resort but The Orient Star really was in its own category which is "I wish I... Very dirty. Staff lazy. Breakfast very poor. Corridor Dark. Only Wi-Fi was good. The last time, we don't come back anymore. Is good for save your money, very cheap. We booked here because Pangkor was full. The incredible thing was the hotel was fully booked!

I was there holiday with my family in Dec 15. Checked in the Hotel. The property façade look quite old . However, the blue color swimming pool, the green leaves of the tall coconut palms, the far away sea gave a overall serene environment. the pre war architecture building provides a nostalgic sense . service was quite good.

I really love the spacious layout of the hotel with view of the pool and Lumut waterline to complement that little gem, small town feeling to it. This is the only place that I would stay every time I'm in the area. Breakfast has plenty of western and local options. Take your time to stroll seafront waterline as well as... More

I stay many times on one to two days business trip as its nearest to point of work. The hotel is pretty run down from elevators to room furniture and fittings. Towels are of very poor condition and air con seems to be poorly maintained and noisy.

It has been established here for so long and require upgrades. Most who were here is on official duties..including me. The room looks old, the building also looks old and the restaurants also looks ordinary without much choice. However, they have a quite interesting swimming pool. For me, there is nothing much to say about the hotel except its location.... More
