We stayed in a double room which came off a central courtyard. Our room was pretty dusty with a layer of grime over the floors. The air conditioning broke and the sink blocked up, however the very friendly host did get these promptly fixed for us. Unfortunately there were a large number of bats roosting in the wall adjacent to... More

We stayed in a double on the ground floor in the back (cheapest of the lot, I think). Small room, all in one toilet/bath that is typical for this part of the world. AC and fan worked well. The bathroom wasn't cleaned before we arrived as there was hair trimmings on the floor (we later learned there was a death... More

We've stayed 4 nights in this old mansion. It has been renovated and it's really pleasant to stay in an historical building. The room is clean but no one cleaned it during our stay. It's very central and the manager is very kind and helpfull. Breakfast is not included but there's a 7 eleven next to the building and a... More

It is nice to stay in a heritage house and its location means you can walk to shopping centres easily but it is on a strip of clubs and pubs and there is some pretty loud music late at night the 'de luxe' room is OK but not luxury in any sense Also, there is a back door which although... More

I stayed at Segara Ninda after finding it in the LP Guidebook and seeing it on TA. It is an interesting place and well located, at one end of Jalan Penang. It is tucked behind a Shell service station if you have trouble finding it and is across the road from the mall that runs down towards the Eastern and... More

Location: Couldn’t be more perfect. Very central. I walked to all the sights. At the same time, Georgetown is not very large. Room: The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Sheets were clean smelled great. There was a small TV, white towels, 2 complementary water bottles. I think there was a small fridge as well (cannot recall). The bathroom was... More

“If your budget allows, take room on 1st floor so you can open windows at night, not advisable on ground floor due to safety reasons. Choose rooms on right (when looking directly at hotel) of building (Shell garage side) or back but not front (noisy penang road) or left (close to night door and guests entering/leaving and also lights). My room was poky, 106, probably given to me as solo traveller, noticed that one room is close to night door, forget the number but ask not to be next to this door as would be noisy opening and shutting (big iron door which slides).”
