Great place & staff, loved the feel and look of wooden building in great location. But could not give a 5; as room ceilings a bit dusty and lack of mosquitoe screens or nets so had many bites. Also guys please set up simple bottle & can recycling system, as recommended by Malaysia gov.

The hostel has very friendly staff. Bathrooms are kept nicely clean and you can use washing machine and do your own laundry for free. The hostel used to be museum. From the whole building you can still feel this amazing atmosphere. It has outside kitchen free to use, with very comfy chilling out porch in front of the hostel. That's...

Stayed a couple of nights in this beautiful old building. It was really relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It has a very good location close to chinese and indian districts as well as all the good food :)

This place is lovely to visit because it is an old supermarket, very interesting to look at. However, it is not very comfortable nor very clean and it is quite expensive when you take a private room with a shared bathroom. The staff is very friendly. The hostel is well situated.

The colonial building is unique and stuffed with antique chinese furniture. You have free breakfast (toast, butter, jam) and coffee or thee all day long. You can also use the washing machine for free. We just loved the building, but the rooms were dissapointing. It is nothing more than a little box with a 'garage door' to close it. Little...

We wanted to stay in a heritage place, that was affordable and in a good location. Well, it certainly was affordable, and it was in a good location. However, if we hadn't already pre-booked this we would have searched for another place to stay. It wasn't very clean or fresh, and most of the rooms were very dark and dingy....

Except for basic bathrooms, which are actually standard to Malaysian budget rooms and occasional loud inconsiderate chinese neighbours, we cannot complain. Suresh and David are super friendly and helpful, the house is beautiful, with cool atmosphere, free allday breakfast, free laundry, fast wifi and cheap drinks. Definitely a place to be! Btw. Don't plan onwards travel cause you might stay...

Fantastic place for backpackers in a beautiful heritage building with lodes of character. Breakfast and laundry provided. 2 common areas means meeting and socializing with fellow travellers over cheap priced Skol beer. Suresh and David are awesome, and can tell you all the great places to go. Beds were really uncomfortable though, but the value of this place is awesome....

There are approximately ten rooms here (+dorm?) and two of them are "normal" with some room to move in but the rest are tiny. I mean, maybe the smallest I saw whole year. Only a little bit bigger than our tent. It is basically two mattresses on wooden platform. Luckily we were able to get one of the two better...

It's freaking cheap! RM60 one night. And what do you expect? Free breakfast in the morning? Of course you can't get that. I love this place because it brings you back in time. Such a nostalgic feeling when you walk-in. The smell, the surrounding, the sound, everything is perfect to bring back good old memories. I recommend this for those...
