Spent 4 nights and really enjoyed the friendliness of Tina and the team, their helpfulness and the family feel of this boutique Hotel. Spacious bedrooms and an ideal location for browsing thru old Penang.
23 Lovelane is the loveliest boutique hotel, with the friendliest and most inviting staff (more like family) that you could ever encounter. They are the true soul of this hotel. The sense of piece and tranquility from the moment you arrive is divine, making you feel straight at home. Not to mention the beautiful rooms, and the character of the whole property. One of the most memorable stays i've ever had!
right in the middle of Penang's old city and night life but quite place. Staff is very professional and very supporting with many tips for sightseeing and going out (dinner, bars...) Great authentic place well furnished with a great taste and very clean and confortable. Breakfast is also very good fresh and nice.
When I research for a place to stay. #1 is review ratings from past guest. 23Lovelane was a place I chose to stay for a special occasion this trip with my best friend and we were not disappointed. The highlights of this destination property was #the service rendered by the Hotel Manager Ms Tina. She went above and beyond to make it good ! Made it memorable for our party of 4. From listening to our needs and making things happen! Such as providing for local treats vs the typical American breakfast and providing us best options recommendations for local delights. Her choice of recommendations was spot on as well and her constant smile was welcoming each time we meet her. She is an asset and should be treaured and groomed further. The property had lovely rooms with super amazing cool air conditioning units which was a treat given the very hot weathers. The room was of good size at 40 to 50sqm with full fledged amenities provided. Overall this is a good property. Just a few points to note, quality of breakfast and tea time could be better improved. Breakfast area should be airconditioned or covered. Too many flies hovering around and quality of cooking is really below average. I loved the 2nd floor library area but a pity it's not air conditioned and thus was not as welcoming as the heat was too much to bear. One would not spend more than 5mins in there. Aside from that, fantastic location in the heart of George town! …
Easy walking distance to get around in the heart of Georgetown. Lively nightlife. Quaint shuttered rooms. Clean. Breakfast with choice of eggs and fruit. Very friendly, helpful staff. We were impressed.
We loved this place, carefully renovated with lots of pretty areas. It’s very centrally locates but at the quieter end of love lane. Love lane is very noisy especially at the weekends so don’t stay here expecting piece and quiet, which does detract from this place but it out of control of the management, it’s just a lively area with a few bars. Staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s a cute cat.
wonderful boutique hotel within walking distance to all of heritage georgetown. friendly staff and lovely unique decor. room was clean and ac worked well, had a few mosquitoes as we opened the windows in the morning, but staff were efficient at providing spray and plug in repellent . tried both western and local breakfast, both were delicious and the coffee was good and strong. loved the tea at 5pm, with fruit and yummy savory snacks, great after an afternoon of walking. can highly recommend this hotel.
Small cozy hotel, located in very useful place to walk around old George Town. Staff are cheerful and kind. However, hot shower is not enough. I think it can be average level if it’s not a hotel. Or just a guesthouse. It should be renovated for this class lank hotel.
Immerse yourself in George Town and enjoy this very nice place restored into a precious small hotel. You enter via a classic gate and cross a lush garden. The building is set back from the road which is a unique feature for old George Town bulgings. Be greeted by the friendly staff into a living room like lobby and then within few steps you get to discover which is your room. It has only few rooms on two stories, all unique, facing their internal gardens and courtyard. For some it feels almost you have you own little house. Have breakfast in the shophouse restaurant opened to the street and observe the decor and furniture...nice simple local and international selection of food and good coffee will get you ready for a day of discovery. Please do not forget to take a look at the restoration book on the coffe table...it describe the place before and during the renovation...you will appreciate it even more.…
This a lovely hotel, stayed in 2 Jack Roof Annexe which is on the lower floor. The rooms are very nice, albeit noisy as it is very close to the bars on Love Lane, but the noise reduces later into the night. In the day, it is laid back, quiet, lots of space outside and the garden to just sit and read book. There are fruits and biscuits readily available for our taking, and a light afternoon tea from 3pm. The room came with breakfast, is ok, select from cooked menu. Service at breakfast was not very welcoming, but staff at reception area and the night duty uncle were all very nice indeed. Location was perfect, walk everywhere! In all, it is a very relaxing hotel and very pretty indeed!
