My sister recommended Guest Inn Muntri for our Penang trip as she has stayed there before and had a really good experience. So I did not hesitate to place a booking. However, when we arrived this time, things have changed a little. The receptionist was a woman with an attitude. She greeted us reluctantly when we arrived and asked if...

I was checking a few different rooms in Georgetown before I got to this guesthouse and this was by far the cleanest room and the best value for my money I could find. I stayed in a private room with a/c and my own bathroom and the room was quite basic, but clean. There is free tea & coffee all...

Well... I had the private double bed room with no window. It was stuffy, small and there was a smell. Picture in agoda wasn't the same as the actual room (wide angle lens eyyy??!) tricked and disappointed. really. Cheap stay? Yes. Friendly reception? Yes.

The guy on reception is fantastic and one of the most helpful I encountered in Malaysia. The bed is not the most comfortable however the facilities are clean and decent enough. The WiFi is good but only available in communal spaces. The laundry service was great and overall a decent stay was had.

From the bus station (where the bus from KL dropped me off), it took 30mins to cab here since I arrived at 11pm and no more bus at that time. Beds are clean. Rooms are simple and small but still nice. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Location is good. It's just 100m walking to the nearest bus station then...

Hotel was located very well and was easy access to see main sights around Penang, the staff were also friendly enough. but other that this i feel the hotel was over priced for what you get, it was a small room with shared showers you can go around the corner and find the same thing for cheaper. The wooden floors...

Pros - common/front areas are very inviting, helpful staff, convenient location. Dorm is windowless, but that helped me sleep better. Dorm has A/C. Con's - first floor bathrooms do not have soap, including for after toilet. Mosquitoes in bathroom, but staff provided a repellent which helped.

There is no window in the rooms. The rooms are very small but clean. There are enough bathrooms and there is warm water. The breakfast consists of toast, jam, butter, tea and coffee. The stuff is very friendly and helps to plan your trip in penang. You can also buy bus-tickets to other cities (ipoh, cameron highlands, Kuala Lumpur,...) there.

We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom and enjoyed our stay. The room has enough space for a double bed and small table and that's it. Shower rooms were clean when we used them and near to the room. Free tea and coffee and breakfast so a thumbs up from us. Very near to Penang sites and lots...
