They allowed us to early check-in which was really good for us. Additionally, they provide partially sea view room which we really liked. However, we didn't feel welcoming environment in the hotel. I think, their staffs can be more hospitable and helpful to their guest. But the deluxe room that we were staying in didn't meet our expectations. This hotel is how old I don't know, but it needs major renovation. Everything is old and looked very bad (eye-catching). The door looked like, it haven't gotten burnished for decade. Room equipments are old. The door lock needs several times trying to get open by room access card. The whole hotel was full of flies (mostly their f&b outlets), I don't know they do pest control or not. When it's come to food, I have mixed opinions. Because I don't know Mantra is under Bayview or 3rd party. Mantra's food and service were really good. We liked having our lunch there. I will request the authority to provide their staff with traditional Indian long-tail shoes instead of black part-timer shoes. However, when it comes to buffet breakfast, I will say this is the cheapest and lowest quality buffet breakfast we have ever tried in our life. Firstly the foods are so cold. Secondly, the quality of the foods and drinks seems very low to us. The taste was below average and the choice of food was limited. It wasn't free breakfast, we paid extra for adding breakfast options. Even though, if it was complimentary, they should higher the standard as they are claiming themselves as a brand and 4star hotel. Just because of their breakfast I lose my appetite and lose my confidence in trying their other f&b outlet. Bayview got the very strategic location, accessibility to popular attractions and places very easy. The atmosphere of the hotel seems ok to me.

Hotel's Favourite
The hotel is one of Penang's earliest brand, but I must say it is well managed. Stayed for a night but the rooms are big and clean. The area is near the local restos, pubs and spas. The service is excellent and the breakfast is sumptuous. Two thumbs up!

Checked in for a 2 night's stay recently, there's a long queue when I checked in around 15:30, maybe because it's a holiday. The reception is polite and efficient in his process, checked in within 15 minutes which is good and he even assigned me to a room with a nice view at the 15th floor. HOWEVER, when I tried to call the reception because of internet access issue, nobody is picking up the calls, think I have tried so many times. Eventually I try to call Guest Relation, same thing. Had to go down to the lobby and get the matter resolved. The staff I met at the Lobby was very helpful indeed and I got connected to the hotel internet within 5 minutes. Thinking that the unanswered calls was because the staff were busy with the checking in and stuff, I tried calling again in the evening, same thing happened. Cannot imagine a hotel where a customer is unable to reach any of the numbers stated on the phone (0 to 9), and this is the first time I've encountered such nonsense.

Truly unsatisfied: 1. Took around 30mins queued for checked in. 2. Complicated parking location and access to hotel lobby. 3. Room had strong cigarette smell. 4. Aircond on off during night time. 5. Small kids pool. 6. Hard to find eateries. Room big enough to accomodate 3 adults + 2 kids + 1 baby. Staff quite friendly.

We came with a large family of four kids. Have to wait for two hours just to check in even though already booked online. The kids became restless and cranky while waiting. Cark park is not accessible easily. U have to change lift at 2nd floor. The swimming pool need a lot of refurbishment. Very small pool for kids. And the adult pool is too deep (3 meters!!) Not safe for family with kids. Breakfast lack of variety. It would be my last visit to this hotel. Bad experience!
