Checked into The (lovingly restored) Blue Mansion for a two-night stay in December 2016, my first visit despite having been past the building on previous trips to Penang. From the warm hospitality, comfortable beds, clean big rooms (lovely bathroom a big plus with me), antique furniture, breakfast in the courtyard to coming back to a dim sum basket of local...

We absolutely loved this place. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and had great designs. Location was good as all sights in Georgetown were within walking distance. We definitely recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind spending a bit more to enhance their experience in Penang :)

Traveller, once you come to Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia, male sure that you geh accomodation in this marvellous Hotel. Never Met a friendlier ans Most helpful straff, especially the ladies at the reception. The interior is original, the rooms arge large, so arge the bathrooms. Theres is only one suggestion: make netter barriers to avoid Museum visitors entering the Hotel Part.

Dear pemino, Thank you for much for your kind words. We are glad that you had enjoyed your time with us. Noted on the suggestion. We will try our level best to come up with a better barrier to segregate parts of the house. Again thank you so much for staying with us and your kind words. We hope to...

No doubt this is a must see mansion in Penang and certainly worth a tour but not so sure it's worth the price. The room was mouldy...with that smell I could have been staying in a cheap hostel (at least then I would have brought my own mould free bedding), the bathrobes had holes, the shower leaked and the pool...

GOOD: -historical and cultural hotel with a vast Chinese history -price is relatively high in Penang but it is worthy definitely -huge room, clean washroom even it looks old (looks old, not physically old) -consistent and thoughtful interior from the lobby to the stairs, from the atrium to the room, you will feel you are in the old China -nice...

The Mansion is divided into 3 parts - the boutique hotel, the heritage museum and the restaurant. We stayed there for 2 two nights and totally enjoyed it. Good: 1. Location of the Mansion is inside the UNESCO heritage site and very near other attractions. 2. Complimentary parking is available inside the compound of the Mansion. 3. Complimentary guided tour...

We started our tour guide with a lovely, energetic and knowledgable lady whose family have been involved with the restoration of the Mansion. She gave us a lot of information not only about the Mansion but also about the politics and UNESCO stories. It is all very interesting and engaging. We didn't get to see much as it also uses...

The 'Blue Mansion' as it is called as it's Blue is a piece of Penang history that you should visit whilst in Penang. A guided tour of the mansion tells the story of Cheong Fat Tze who originally built the mansion and the great detail and care in the architectural process. Tours are in English 3x day and go for...

A very interesting and easy thing to do. The mansion is in use as a hotel so access is limited to timed guided visits. The guide is informative and knowledgable. You don't get to see a huge amount but understandable given guests are staying there. There is a good amount of historical references to Penang also which helps you understand...
