I was surprised at how good they handled the Covid 19 matter. Upon check in, body temperature is checked and they do sell masks. The workers wear masks and practice safe distance upon check in. I stayed 5 nights at the hotel on a business trip. Paid RM1300++ for the room booking through Agoda. The location is strategic about 1 km from the PLUS highway exit to Prai. While enter the lobby didn't feel I was welcoming to the hotel. 3 person at reception counter 2 of them didn't show or bother to show the gesture guest infront them.
When enter room find room dusty and some defect in the room really obvious.Did call FO waiting for 30min to Duty Manager to show up but just waste my time to talk to him because I address my disappointment to HK sup.
Wall edge chipped near thermostat, shower room grouting back, rubbish not clear n toilet bidet leaking.

This is my second visit to Ixora Hotel. I was stayed here before with my wife and that the reason we came back. Recently we stayed for 1 night in Deluxe Family room and quite surprise the hotel look old.
When we reached at the lobby entrance there is no bellman to assist with the luggage, my son went inside the hotel and took the trolley by himself. After saw we uploading the luggage, one of the staff approached but not to assist us and but just stand next to the trolley and watching us carry the luggage from car boot into the trolley. We feel so bad with the first impression.
While enter the lobby, nobody bother to take the body temperature and no one asked us to sanitize the hand. As we aware during pandemic, this is compulsory SOP.
There is only one receptionist attending the guest and while waiting, another Indian male staff came out from the back office and I guessed, he is supervisor as he wore different shirt. He saw us but not even smile or greet and we didn't feel was welcoming to the hotel at all. We proceed checking process with the Indian male staff and he never give us wifi password where we need to call later on. And no breakfast information was given and I need to asked him where is the breakfast place and what time.
After check in, we get ready to go out and i remembered as stated in the confirmation letter, we entitled for the for cocktail in library lounge, so we went there unfortunately it was closed. Nobody notified us upon check in and it was very disappointed. We go down to the lobby and asked the reception and very simple answer, it was closed and not a single apologize given.
Hotel was a good place to stay previously, however this time, I was very very very disappointed. While we entered the room, the bed sheet was crumpled and the room didn't clean out properly and we asked the staff who sent the luggage. He went into the room and he said it was how their HK staff do the rooms. We are totally speechless at that time.
The toilet flush didn't work but we did not bother call anyone as I fixed myself. They should checked everything is in order before release the room to the guests. No comments on their meals since we are not going down for breakfast.
Supposedly we would like to extend our stay for another 2 nights, unfortunately the bad experienced made us change mind and we booked hotel in Penang Island for next day. This hotel will out of our list when we visit Penang in future

Attended Buka Puasa Gathering at Ixora yesterday.
Everything are like what my others friends told me: Phil, you must go to Ixora to try their Buka Puasa. Its value for money and you will find something there...
Yes..I did and want to share with everyone that...their hospitality are so good..Friendly smile eventhough the Muslim staffs are Puasa now. They showed their best part to the guest ( i understand they might hungry and tired).
Chef Harry n the team were walking around to check the food n PR. The waiter not only just clear the plate but also putting their smiling face and ask the comments n even recommended me not to miss the Nasi kambing, bubur lambok, Grilled fish etc..
Its really impressed us and we will keep supporting @Ixora by sharing the good things to them.

My wife and I stayed at Ixora hotel for three nights and it was one of the best experiences we ever had. The staff is super friendly and professional, we had the chance to meet the general manger as well (John), and we had such a nice talk discussing about culture differences, food, adventures, etc. what a nice talk. The rooms are super clean and very big. The breakfast had a variety of food going from Asian type to western. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to everyone

Not recommended and very dirty. Didn't hire a pest control before opening the rooms to guest to stay. When you turn on the hot water shower the cockroaches all came out from the drain. Disgusting and traumatic experience to pay such amount whereby other hotels can get lower and much cleaner than the amount I’m paying for. Didn’t get to sleep for the night as the smell of the cockroaches were getting stronger. And at the hallway few dead cockroaches to be seen. Housekeeping didn’t even clean it. Very upset and will never stay in this hotel ever again.

one of the worst experience ever. room carpet smelly, dusty , toilet got mold, kettle is rusty, hotel breakfast feel like is from pasar malam, chose this hotel only because it was near to my relative house but will not be choosing this again. the room felt like a prison.

Ixora Hotel service is very bad. Housekeeping is the worst. You will never get your request until you make noise. They dont speak english or Bahasa Melayu.
The hotel provides Aristo coffee machine but no coffee capsule. What a joke..!! So I guess its just for deco And of you want to use it..BUY YOUR OWN CAPSULE..!!
They should consider taking out from the marketing item of Suite Room..
And dont bother caling the housekeeping or guest service especially at night..no one will answer. You need to go down to the front desk face to face to be heard..And whatever you complain…no one listens.
Overall this hotel is just like a 2 star hotel in a shop house unit or Rumah Tumpangan…

Definitely a well-located hotel in Butterworth Central Business area. Overall the price for this type of hotel room is very worth. My concern is the smell of the whole corridor floor and also the room is a bit funky. It has a very weird strong smell of bug repellent.

We are so sorry about the false information you read on other website. Children are allowed to stay with accompany by an adult and this is a family friendly hotel.
Hi Alison :) They have basement parking for hotel guests so no need to worry about having to park your car at the public parking lots outside. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area too so you can just walk out for meals if you choose not to eat in the hotel.
