Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel 📍Executive Premier, Ocean view, Corner room, Balcony. 🌞🌃3D/2N Stay ✅April 2021 📱Booked via Marriott Bonvoy Mobile App 📐Room Size: 47sq. M. /506 sq. Ft. 💰Normal BAR rate: RM 800 💰Booking method: Marriott Bonvoy mobile App 💰Booked rate: RM 244 with sahur/breakfast, RM 456 with sahur/breakfast and iftar/breaking fast/dinner buffet (Ramadan Stay & Dine) 💰0 Deposit (Hotel pre-auth CC) 📍Package details: Ramadan Stay & Dine Member rate (Upgraded) 👩‍👩‍👧‍👧Family Stay 🔵REVIEW I chose this hotel on this review because of its large and beautiful room upgrade. The price was competitive too, as it was in a Ramadan Stay & Dine package which include sahur/suhoor buffet and breaking fast/dinner buffet (Taste of Borneo). The first night was with breaking fast/dinner buffet, which if buy separately is RM128 net for walk-in/non-member, RM118 nett for Marriott Bonvoy member and RM 50 nett for children aged between 4-12 years old. 💳Check in 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 It was a great pleasure to get the Executive Premier room upgrade as I've never stayed at this kind of room before. Its unique feature(s) includes a room with a balcony (only this room type and Presidential Suite) and its bathroom with bath tub and shower area placed towards ocean view. The quality of its bed was pretty satisfying and the foam pillow which was very comfy. It was a delightful room stay experience. Special credit goes to Adrian who already recognized me from our first encounter during my check-in on December last year, first warm encounter with Immaculate who managed my check-out process faultless, Khairunnisa who is a familiar staff since my few stays before and Azlan a helpful housekeeper in our floor. Mohammad at Kitchen@8 was pretty decent though. Lastly the security staff at the lobby area who I clearly lost track of his name. On this stay, I observed a very good positive sign which I mentioned earlier on my reviews. The lights on each floor to the Guest Car Park were properly on at night. To sum it all, I had a very good time staying at this hotel and always ready to plan on staying here again soon.

The hotel still feels new, and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable - loved the shower. Breakfast spread is great - a lot of variety. Located next to the waterfront and near shopping malls, it's easy to get around. The staff are helpful - the bellboy was very friendly as were the breakfast staff. Downsides: someone was swimming with their clothes in the pool and the attendant didn't stop them (I think it was a Korean tourist). Rooftop bar has a nice view, but felt quite empty in terms of vibe and decor.

I spent just under a week at the hotel and it was a wonderful experience. When I arrived they knew my name and gave me a lovely suite with a sea view on 13th floor. Everyone was welcoming as is the way here but it felt I made friends with the folks that work here. I am an expatriate that lives in hotels across Asia btw and friendliness is important to me. Good: room was amazing Room cleaning: perfect Pool side service: great (the team are learning and that’s ok) Breakfast……my most important meal of the day. The food on offer is wonderful, lots of choice and you won’t go hungry. BUT….you have hot plate warmers that can be turned on for the curry, rice, chicken dishes…..please turn them on when a cooked dish is served. I got used to cool chicken and rice or sauce. If it’s supposed to be hot then use what you have and keep it hot. That’s all. Ps I am due back soon. I would love a hot breakfast. You all are lovely and amazing so thank you 🙏

Staying with Marriott KK for 2 nights from 23-25 May 2022. The experience was quite good. Location is strategic, located at the city centre, walking distance to KK Waterfront, Filipino Market, Handcraft Market, Todak hawker centre etc... Arriving at noon, our luggage was handle by a friendly security(wonder that why there is no bellman at this property?) Check in process was fast and done by a helpful front desk staff name Danise. Our room located at 10th floor, overlook to the south china sea. The room is huge and comfortable, the only sad thing is the wifi & tv channel down on 24 may. The infinity pool at 8th foor quite nice, however is lack of pool service, the pool attendance standing at the towel kiosk. When we approch to get a towel, she just look at us, no greeting not asking our room number. The rooftop bar is my favourite spot in the entire property. 50%off during the happy hour, spacial thank for Elizabeth friendly service. Communicate with the hotel through GXP, the respond was fast, we did not goes down for breakfast at restaurant, however we order in room dining breakfast, delivered on time and the food is delicious. Overall the hotel is quite good, just need a little of maintenance. The Oceanus Mall next to the hotel was totally become empty, lot of shop lots close down due to the pandamic.

Accommodated from 30th March-6 April. Always thought mariot had a classy brand of itself. However was surprised Kota Kinabalu Mariott does not reflect so. From depressing ambience,to cleaniness to customer service is definitely below par and needs attention. Am sure there are cheaper hotels around with better servives

Response from Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel, Guest Services / Front Office at Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel
Responded 27 May 2022
Dear dharroshan, Greetings from Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel. First and foremost, I would like to thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback of your stay experience. On behalf of my team and myself, we sincerely apologize that we had fallen short of meeting your expectations as a valued guest such as yourself should be deserving especially at a Marriott. I would like to assure you that this is certainly not the level of service our associates strive to provide. I shall review this matter in-depth with the respective department heads and conduct the necessary re-trainings on our hosts’ communication as well as our procedures once again to ensure that such would not recur again in the future. I certainly look forward to welcoming you back with us in the near dates to come and to give us the opportunity to restore your confidence with my team's hospitality and with Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel. Thank you. Sincerely, Feezah Nadirah Front Office Manager

Stayed here during the long weekend in May 2022. Room type is Sea View, M Club Lounge, Corner, Large room, Balcony, high floor. Due to the holiday, we checked in at 5pm. The hotel is kind to agree to our request of checking out two hours later the next day due to the late check in. The room is spacious and modern, with a large balcony. The view is amazing. However, the bathroom is hot during the day due to no aircon vent in the bathroom. There is only one aircon vent at the bedroom which is taking a long time to cool the bathroom. Even during night time, the bathroom is warm and stuffy. The breakfast is not bad, quite standard. The best part is sea view table. Make sure to go early to secure the nice seat. The thing that I love the most is the lounge that allow us to takeaway barista coffee and tea back to the room anytime during the day. And the coffee taste good.

We had a splendid & wonderful stay at Marriott KK. Booked the executive premier room with balcony. The service rendered was impeccable. The view from the room was enthralling. It was scenic & relaxing. Spacious & well appointed room. The bed was very comfortable. Location is good. Walking distance to Todak Waterfront & malls nearby. We ordered in-room dinjng. Very generous portion. Will be back for sure!

+ the rsvn and Front Desk staffs are very attentive, helpful and friendly. I love the hotel staff who are not biased to their guests. Unfortunately I forgot their name and sorry can't give a shout out here. Including concierge, other f&b staffs and everyone are worth to mention here. Keep this work quality, guests will love you guys for sure + the Dlx room are spacious with two queen beds with city view. Amenities are branded and sufficient, and furniture and room layout are modern design, can fit any type of travellers + Tv channels are sufficient, and wifi are fast + The infinity pool is very great, the view is unbeatable maybe in KK. The changing room has a sauna and changing lockers too, for usage altogether with gym goers. The gym is also very spacious. + The breakfast was amazing. The variety is very big, perfect for a 5* star hotel. But I personally like the Mee Kolok(not sure what the real name), the chef make in open order, and the taste is perfect. Also, the fnb staffs here also very attentive to you and your request, thumbs up. - hotel also a walking distance to food court, malls, and popular night market in KK. Easy to catch a grab too here. - I can say nothing I am very satisfied with this stay. Worth to repeat, and I'm ready to rebook for my next stay in Oct2022.
