This is a large hotel which seems to be well set up for families. We were on honeymoon and had been staying in much smaller resorts until we got to Shangri La Tanjung Aru so it was a bit of a change of pace for us. All the staff we encountered were lovely. Check in was quick and we were...

We are staying her with 2 other couples and are extremely disappointed with the standards of this hotel. It is definitely not the same standard as the other Shangri-La hotels. Over the last 2 days they have : 1) delivered our food late at every meal 2) food tasted lousy despite the long wait 3) not brought food we ordered...

There is nothing too bad about this hotel though the food quality is not very good and the staff are not very friendly and helpful. The only problem is the quality of the guests!!!! I will tell and have told my friends not to stay at this hotel just because it's too popular among XX people. Remember, this hotel is...

Was there to get a romantic setting and trust me could not have choosen a better place to stay. Check in was real smooth, lobby had some traditional live music going on, room view was amazing, but the sunset bar is what enticed me everyday (4 days) ....best feeling just sitting there. Coco Jos is another of their restaurant which...

Avoid this hotel in summer holiday season if you are european. Too many guests from China and Japan are behaving like being at home. Beware of families with small children, it's a real problem. Although they are also foreigners in Malaysia they behave like at home and this is hardly acceptable.

It's the worst Shangri-la I ever tried. The check in experience was bad and it took a very long time. We booked three Tanjung Seaview rooms. None of the rooms could see the sun set. All three rooms were blocked by the trees. However, in their website, they said you can enjoy the sunset in your private balcony in your...

Upon arrival at the hotel we were overwhelmed at how crowded/busy the reception area was, with a queue of people lined up waiting to check in and out and only one person out of about 5 prepared to serve customers. We were asked if we wanted to upgrade for a fee, we said no, and they upgraded us anyway free...

Very large resort and of course comes with the hustle bustle of very many guests mostly from the Far East (mainly China). Try to book early or pay more for a sea view. The hotel was full so we were stuck with our room facing the tennis court (backside). The swimming pool is large, but the actual beach is very...
