We stayed here on two seperate occasions on our arrival and before departure from Kota Kinabalu. The hostel is clean and with spacious rooms. The breakfast is just toast and jam, but better than nothing. The hostel is located close to the waterfront, shops and restaurants are all around. The shared bathrooms were kept clean and usefully had seperate toilets...

As budget accommodation goes Lavender Lodge is doing a very good job. I stayed here countless times and continue to do so. The staff are friendly & polite, the place is run like clockwork, is clean and bedding is always fixed every day, free simple breakfast (toast, tea or coffee and bananas) and has free WIFI. One final but important...

We spent three nights here. It is a really convenient, central location- a short walk to restaurants, shopping centre and the night seafood market on the bay. Our room was small but adequate, although there was no window! The bathroom was clean, functional and tiny. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful with tourism knowledge, taxis, etc....

Spacious and very clean rooms, situated in the centre of KK; a huge seafood nightmarket is located just accross of the street, the ferry pier is within walking distance, convenience stores and atms are nearby. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not the best but at least it is free. The only real downside is the missing...

Basic facilities, super clean and friendly staff. Breafkfast feels like a cafe experience. We were on the 3rd level....lots of stairs but didn't really bother us...if you have mobility issues request bottom floor. No problems with wifi on 3rd floor. Overall felt safe and appreciated such a clean place. The front desk organised our airport transfer and helped us out...

Wifi is available only in the dining area, which is also the place to hv bfast. Room rate as of dec2012 was 88rm. For...

We stayed at Lavender Lodge for a couple of weeks on the second floor. Indeed there are lots of steps to climb to get to the second floor. If this is a problem, you can always book in advance and request for ground floor rooms or first floor. One thing stands out - this place is very clean, spick and...

Lavender lodge is clean with basic facilities, excellent staff, safe. Lots of stairs to go up. Some rooms have no windows. The shared bathrooms were very clean. The location is perfect with easy access to shops and restaurants but quiet at night.

We stayed here for one night before leaving KK, after calling on the morning to make a booking. We arrived to find a basic but comfy place, spotlessly clean and with nice touches like photos and paintings of Borneo's wildlife on the walls in the stairwell. After climbing 3 flights of stairs to get to our room (!), we were...

This place was very clean and everything was in perfect working order. If you walk in and no rooms are available, book one on hostelbookers and go back in - worked for us. Close enough to walk to everything.
