Review We arrived at Kurakura Homestay in the pouring rain. Lars met us at the airport and kindly bought black plastic rubbish bags to wrap our gear. We packed everything we needed for our five night stay in one pack and left our other suitcase at Lisa's family village. The car trip to Kurakura Homestay is about 40 mins. Lars...

Kurakura Homestay is a unique place! Hidden in the jungle of Borneo it can only be reached by a longboat. Once there you will get the feeling that you are in a different world and you will be right. For the guests there are four rooms, shared toilet and a shower: all very nice and clean. There is also a...

Our 2 night stay with Lars, Liza and girls was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Lars collected us from the hotel (tip, leave your luggage at the hotel and just take an overnight bag), we then travelled by car to the markets to do some shopping and then onto the end of the road at the village, we then...

A memorable stay, Lars' and Liza's place was as we were told it would be, tranquil and simple in a nice way. We had a great boat ride up the river from the kampung, this was a perfect entry for the weekend. Their hospitality was great. The rooms are simple, clean and what you need for a couple of days in...

A wonderful experience with Lars, Liza and their family in the jungle. The pick-up in Kuching was by car but the journey finished with a 20 minute boat ride up river from the nearest village. Travel light because it is some narrow wooden steps and a jungle path up to the house from the river, but don't let that deter...

Amazing experience from start to finish. Lars and Liza are great hosts. their hospitality and the whole experience made us feel at home instantly, and let us enjoy being in a middle of the jungle. Liza's cooking was some of the best we had in Malaysia, and we enjoyed Lars knowledge of the jungle on our jungle walk. The room...

My family of 4, including two girls, ages 10 and 7, just came back from a wonderful 2 night stay at the Kurakura Homestay. All four of us wished we never had to leave that special place in the jungle. Here are the reasons our trip was a very memorable one: 1. We loved the stop at the Kota Sentosa...

Our stay at KuraKura has left us with lasting memories. Pick up and drop off at our hotels went great. The Boat ride to Lars' and Liza's place in the jungle was very nice. Their home is beautiful. The rooms are very simple, but all you need. The food Liza and her cousin prepared for us was amazing. The Jungle...

Lisa and Lars were wonderful hosts and the food was extraordinarily delicious. Lisa should think about offering a cooking class to augment her fascinating jungle 'shopping' trek. Taking nothing away from Lars' jungle trekking and kayaking trip, her demonstrations of food and medicinal uses of jungle plants was amazing and one of the high points of our four days with...
