Annie was a lovely host. Ansen picked us up from airport after midnight and was very efficient. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom with ensuite, fan and A/C. For the price it was a good room, very large and had a lockable wardrobe. After a visit to Bako National Park we stayed there for another night in the smaller guest...

I was a bit disappointed by Fair view guest house. The welcome is indeed friendly but the place can be noisy as the house is near to a main circulation road (it is still a walking distance from the main points of interest in Kuching). You have to add the price of the breakfast and the price of internet connexion,...

Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate it. "Getting a bit old" - Yes, this is a very old heritage house. "can be noisy" - I agree, at times, if you are extremely sensitive. "have to add the price of breakfast" - it depends on your perspective. Not everyone wants to pay for a room with breakfast included. We want to...

We loved our stay at the Fairview. Annie, Eric and Anson are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are big and clean. The garden is beautiful. We had very nice breakfasts for a very good price. A big plus is the location as it is close to Kuching Waterfront, the Museums and the main shopping area. It felt like home...

Good location, It's about 10min. walk to Kuching Waterfront and 5 min. to the Shopping mall Plaza Merdeka where on the top floor you can find all kinds of food to eat out. Rooms are basic but spacious. They might smell a bit but that's normal because it's in an old house ! Bathroom has hot water. Wifi available. You...

We stayed 2 nights in a huge bedroom on the first floor with an attached bathroom and wish we could have stayed longer as we were made most welcome. Annie picked us up from the airport and suggested we visit the Sunday market nearby which we did, I loved seeing all the fresh produce for sale. The next day she...

We used the Fairview as our base whilst in and around Kuching and enjoyed staying there very much. It's an old (1920's?) big house with an extra annexe with a couple of rooms (we stayed in the family room there). The owner Annie is very helpful - we were happy to be picked up at the airport as we arrived...

I found "The Fairview" Guesthouse in a New York Times travel article before I traveled to Kuching in May of 2011. When my friend and I first arrived, I wasn't blown away by the rooms - they were pretty standard for the guesthouse scene, yet clean and orderly. Whatever The Fairview lacks in frills, it more than makes up for...
