We stayed in Olivia's bungalow with grandparents and 2 small children. As others here have noted, the hospitality on the farm is first class. Food is lovely and Adrian and his family accommodate all your requests. Adrian's daughter spent a lot of time just giving us lifts to nearby places, and for trips further out Adrian organised a car &...

We stayed in Olivia's bunkhouse for 2 nights in April this year. After reading so many positive descriptions about Kebun. I honestly expected people had been exaggerating, however was amazed to discover not only was it true some aspects were even better. Hosts like Adrian and his family really understand what hospitality is all about. Whilst staying at Kebun we...

I stayed in Adrian's bungalow for 4 nights with a friend and then stayed on after she went home. Adrian and his family are generous, good humoured and friendly hosts. They went out of their way to make sure we got the best out of Kuching without having to go through the tour companies. Being guided by locals with inside...

My son and I spent 3 nights at the Kebun in one of the longhouse rooms and loved it. It was just how you imagine a Longhouse would be with loads of authentic artifacts,a relaxing hammock and a log fire which was lit each evening to deter the bugs and smoke the heads hanging above it! Our room was clean...

We stayed here for 4 nights in february and looved the quiet and homely setting. Adrian really got out of his way to make sure we had a good time, the food was fresh and awesome (we still dream of the pickles). We figuered we stayed in the bungalow of the movie "the sleeping dictionary" and thought the longhouse on...

Hello NicoleA, Your compliment on our longhouse brought smiles as with the compliments on our meals. It was such a breeze histing such easy going guests and your preference to explore the area on motorcycles made hosting you even easier. Thank you NicoleA for taking time to write your review. The Kebun was recommended by a friend. This place has to be one of the best places that I have ever stayed. It is by no means 5 star in the respect that top city hotels are, but... it is 5 star in all other aspects - Adrian and Olivia along with Nafezah are just beautiful, they make you feel...

We stayed two nights in "Adrian's bungalow" - a 20's style wooden colonial bungalow with big verandah, very close to the river, and loved it. The beds are comfy and the mosquito nets work just fine. The bungalow has a TV, DVD player etc but we never got round to using them. There's a kayak too, to use on the...

We stayed for 3 nights in the longhouse, prior to a trip to Bako. The accommodation in the longhouse was, as expected, simple and clean. The beds are of the platform mattress type, with good quality mosquito nets. We used our own silk liners, and the fan for a few hours, and slept well. The longhouse has a lovely atmosphere,...

The Kebun is everything that the website promises and more. The bungalows are far above the standard of other accomodation that we looked at in Sarawak, being characterful and tastefully furnished with all mod cons such as air conditioning, good showers and a television and DVD player. The bungalows are also of a good size; we stayed in Olivia's bungalow...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Kebun was started 12 years ago as our plan for a retirement home in Sarawak, East Malaysia. Adrian’s Bungalow was put up after being disassembled from the movie set of The Sleeping Dictionery. Olivia’s was only put up only two years later when it was taken out of storage which was also disassembled from the same movie set. The farmstay side of the business only started in April 2010 after much encouragement from friends. The Kebun is not just accommodation, it is an experience. If you would like to get a taste for the basics of a simple lifestyle in a beautiful tropical setting, which is of fresh gardens of organic herbs & vegetables, picking your own tropical fruits, dining on fresh farm raised livestock, fishing for your own freshwater fish & simple accommodation with little impact to the environment, or even to help out with feeding all of the animals at the end of the day’s activities and again in the morning, then your are up for a unique Sarawakian adventure at The Kebun. ... more   less
