We have recently returned from Maafushivaru having previously visited the Maldives on 16 previous occasions and 14 different islands. Of these 14 Islands only Ari Beach and Fesdu have been disappointing ( both now revamped and renamed ). All islands offer something different so they cannot satisfy everybody all of the time. Our choice would be to take something from...

My husband and I have also just returned from our second visit to Maafushivaru, where we stayed in a Beach Villa for 14 nights. This was our fifth time to the Maldives, having been to Komandoo, Veligandu and Grand Centara. We had such an amazing time the first time round and we wondered for a split second whether we should...

We have just returned from our second visit to this beautiful island, last year I wrote a review and said if this is not paradise I don't know where is, it still is paradise and we have made plans to return next year. We flew BA from Gatwick to Male which is about a 10/10.5 hours which is ok outward...

I stayed in a water bungalow which was gorgeous with a lovely sundeck from which you can swim and snorkel or just watch the underwater life from your sunlounger! The island is tiny!! Only about 50 rooms or so and only takes a few minutes to walk around the whole island. There is an infinity pool on the beach and...

After considerable research we chose Maaf for our first honeymoon. To be clear - we had a wonderful time and the resort is generally excellent. But for almost £7000 for the week - we felt it should have been perfect and frankly - there were a few things that made it not so. The transfer from our BA fight to...

We (two adults and three kids, aged 11, 9, and 9) have just returned from our first week in the Maldives - it won't be our last... The trip was fairly last-minute (booked three weeks before leaving) so our travel agent only gave us the option of about five islands. We whittled it down to Maafushivaru and another island called...

Just come back from 2 weeks in the Maldives - a week on the Atoll Explorer and a week on Maafushivaru. We loved the Atoll Explorer and found Maafushivaru a bit quiet by comparison, however it is a beautiful island - and ideal for anyone on their honeymoon. We were in a beach villa, which was gorgeous - loads of...

We stayed for 14 days here from Boxing Day onwards and the hotel did a great job celebrating New Years Eve-recommend it fi you're thinking ahead to 2012/13 The island is small enough to walk around in 7 minutes and it has everyting the larger islands offer. Rooms are well maintained and pool/bar areas are ideal as a break from...

Maafushivaru deserves the rave reviews it gets. It is a compact island but with enough space to never feel inhibited. We were there for 10 days and really enjoyed the place, the lovely staff and the excellent house reef for snorkelling. Excursions were good and not too expensive. Meals are buffet style and while it could not be called gourmet...

Just returned from our vacation on Maafushivaru. What can I say, everything was perfect. The hospitality is outstanding. Special thanks to Manu, Nissan and Hassan. The island is petit and nicely planted. We enjoeyed beeing barefoot the whole time while there. We're on an all inclusive package and had more than enough possibilities for eating and snacking. Drinks and cocktails...
