My husband and I recently returned from a magnificent 9-day stay at Amilla. We have traveled all over the world and the Amilla ranks as one of our top destinations. Our experience was absolutely outstanding. The resort is beautiful. The service is exceptional. The employees are so attentive and friendly. The food selection is healthy and delicious. Everything exceeded our expectations. This place is a gem! It is true paradise. When you shed tears having to leave, you know it’s left a huge mark in your heart. The pre-arrival communication from Hassan was fantastic and helped us prepare for our travel from Texas to the Maldives, including COVID testing and entry requirements. They asked us to complete a guest preference form before arriving to better understand our food/beverage preferences and desired experiences to better accommodate us. The moment we exited baggage claim in Male, we were greeted by an airport representative holding an Amilla sign who assisted us with luggage and guided us through the check-in process with Manta Airlines for the seaplane flight. Upon arrival at the Amilla resort, we could see staff greeting us with welcoming smiles and waving hands. I felt like I was a guest in the TV show “Fantasy Island”, but it was all an incredible reality. Jason and Victoria welcomed us and introduced us to Haisham, our Katheeb (butler), who whisked us away on a golf cart that had our names on it. This was just one of the many levels of personalization. We were brought to a villa to have our COVID tests. This is something that not all resorts in the Maldives mandate upon arrival and made us feel safe that everyone is required to be tested. After we received negative test results, we no longer had to wear masks and never thought about COVID. We felt safe the entire time. We stayed in a Lagoon Water Pool Villa. It was so spacious and larger than any rooms I’ve seen in the Maldives. The interior had a separate shower and tub, double sinks, large sitting area, comfortable king bed, ceiling fans, great air conditioning, complimentary glass bottled water, teas, coffee, and even a yoga mat. There were also two TVs, but we never watched anything as the view was the best thing to look at. We had enough closet space to live there for a year. The deck had a large pool and three separate sitting areas with an outdoor shower. We enjoyed having direct access to swim in the lagoon right from our villa. Everyone is provided with bicycles and we used them daily to bike to the restaurants, pool, beach, and activities. It was fun to bike through the lush jungle and around the island to different beaches. We participated in the Blue Hole snorkeling tour. We were there when Viktor Troicki, the professional tennis player, was providing tennis lessons. He was so nice and provided great tips to improve. There is a theme of health and wellness throughout the resort from fitness classes, indoor and outdoor gym, wellness packages at the spa, meditation area, herb/vegetable garden and greenhouse, food choices, freshly made beverages, a variety of teas, and organic bathroom amenities. We participated in the hands-on kombucha workshop led by Jo, which was very informative. They produce their own kombucha on the island. They also have a strong focus on sustainability. Repurposed wood is all over the resort and there is no plastic. You’ll even find an Amilla branded wooden straw in your drink. We purchased the Dine Around All Inclusive Food and Beverage plan, which allowed us to have breakfast, 2-courses at lunch, 3-courses at dinner, and beverages. It worked well for us and was similar to the all-inclusive concept we’ve experienced at resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, but at a much higher quality. We are very picky eaters and loved the food selections, particularly the Seafood Feast night with reef fish and Maldivian tuna. We would try to make it to the Sunset Bar each night to see a great view of the sunset. Yani, the bartender, was eagerly waiting to make us a drink and take our photos. She was always smiling and happy to serve others. This is a common theme amongst other employees throughout the resort, such as Alex at breakfast. Jason and Victoria were always visible checking on us and other guests. We were treated like family. Some of the evening entertainment included a fire show, belly dancer, aerial hoop, DJ, and pianist. We were delightfully surprised to hear our wedding song played unrequested by the pianist on our first night, which is “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain. We never would have expected to hear this song in the Maldives. Just another indicator that we were meant to be there on the island of surprises and delights. As our stay was coming to an end, the required COVID test that we had to have before returning to the USA was done conveniently in a villa. Our Katheeb collected our luggage and drove the golf cart to the pier where we’d take a short boat ride to board the seaplane. Jason, Victoria, Haisham, Yuliya, and others were there to send us off and waved as we departed. That’s when the tears came. It’s not goodbye, but farewell for now. We will return to this incredible Fantasy Island and I highly recommend this amazing property to others. Thank you for providing a spectacular, unforgettable experience!

HI Moore728,  We appreciate you taking the time to write such a comprehensive and great review of your stay at Amilla Maldives. I am so happy to hear that you had such a wonderful time with us.  I am happy to hear that our unique policy of testing all staff and guests upon arrival to the island, with our onsite PCR machine, made you feel so safe on the island. It certainly is nice to have a vacation from wearing masks!  Our approach to wellness and sustainability is an integral part of our offering and I am so happy that this added to your vacation. We do make our own Kombucha and other probiotic drinks on the island and I am glad that you did the class with JO. Good luck with making your own at home.  I am also glad you like our activity and entertain program, it is one of the most robust in the Maldives and we like to offer as many complimentary items as possible to our guests.  We hope to welcome you back to Amilla in 2022!  Island regards, Jason

We just came back from 1 week at Amilla Fushi and we are so sad to have had to leave. Since our arrival, all we had were smiles and friendly people greet us and chat with us. Mihad at the airport helped us with all formalities for the seaplane and stayed with us in the seaplane lounge until departure. The lounge was small but comfortable and had great homemade goodies (the cookies tasted just like those you make at home!). We were lucky to have an executive seaplane on our way, with big spacious leather seats to enjoy the view of paradise from. When we arrived, we were picked up with a speedboat and 3 mins later we were greeted on the dock by our katheeb Nasaah. We split our stay into 3 different room categories: treetop villa, sunset pool villa and beach villa. All of them with different qualities and unique in various ways. We enjoyed the treetop for the location amongst the palm trees, the sunset villa for direct access to the water and spectacular views (and then hammock in the ocean), and the beach villa for access to a little “private” part of the island designated mainly for beach villa tenants. However, should we have to pick one villa to stay in the future It would be the sunset pool villa. Amilla does not have a “proper” reception area, everything was done through our katheeb Nasaah from checkin, to restaurant and activity booking, PCR tests and checkout. This is one thing we particularly enjoyed as it made us feel more taken care of in our own corner of paradise and less in a hotel/resort. We also went on a Manta tour and a jet ski adventure and our guides were very nice. On the jet ski, we saw hundreds of dolphins and it was an amazing experience. Unfortunately the weather was not too good and we were not able to go kayaking or paddle boarding as the wind was very strong. The reef just off the beach is very beautiful - so many fish and beautiful corals. If you have a reef villa, you can access it directly from your dock. The food was great - we highly recommend the pancakes and waffles for breakfast and East restaurant (Indian) or feeling koi (Japanese) for dinner. Another great thing was complimentary ice cream at any time of the day at chilld cafe - we loved taking our ice cream and enjoying it on the beach. All in all, it was a wonderful 7 days but unfortunately we had to leave. The team at Amilla make it worth going - you can have beautiful beaches and rooms pretty much anywhere in the Maldives (although the decor of the rooms is one of the ones we liked the most during our search for the perfect getaway), but what makes Amilla especially great is how easygoing and friendly everyone is. You can tell management is good from how happy the team is. Thank you Nasaah for being so great and easygoing - we had many good laughs with you. Thank you also to Renuka the executive housekeeper and his team - especially shahadat and waheed. You can tell Renuka is very dedicated to his team and coaches them to success. Also, thank you to Ny for making our dinners/ breakfasts fun and always making good food recommendations. Thank you for a great holiday that will forever be remembered!

As we were travelling for our honeymoon, expectations were quite high, still, Amilla managed to be above them. I terms of services provided, everything has been perfect, from the airport agent, to our khateed or the cleaning team. In addition, there were dedicated special touches on a daily basis making our stay totally unique. Food was excellent and all the amenities of the Resort are also. The Island is just paradise and somehow, you can really feel as if you're alone there :D No words can describe our marvelous it was! I spent a week of Bliss at Amilla and I definitely would like to thank Jason and the entire team. See you very soon :)
