Good place to stay Friendly stuff Beautiful view But I had a problem ( in a trip they organize for me) and they tell me they will refund my whole money back but the refund half of the money ! Don’t trust them when it’s come to money ever I delayed my review to see if they will refund or not They want to review before but I refuse and see what happens 🤷♂️ Enjoy your trip to Mauritius 🇲🇺
On this, our first visit to Mauritius, we stayed at The Residence for the first 7 nights. We had a seaview room with a balcony, which was beautiful, the bathroom incorporates a walk-in wardrobe, which works well. The food was lovely and the service in the Plantation restaurant was amazing, the manager here was interesting and informative. Other staff to mention is Mina at reception, she was bright and extremely helpful, Sam , who was always there for a chat at the pool and Ricardo who runs the watersports. We will definitely return to this amazing hotel.
*****STUNNING HOTEL***** Beautiful hotel with amazing views but what made it special are the brilliant and friendly staff! Particular mention to dining room staff Abinash, Neha and Kavish who always greeted you with the BIGGEST SMILES ever. Managers Rajesh, Rouben and Ally tried their best to cater for my aunt's vegetarian needs. The non veg buffet was always varied and tasty and we loved the mini sized desserts. The rooms were SPOTLESS and cleaned daily to a very high standard. The blackout shutters were a plus and the bathrooms were huge. The evening entertainment was great and we really enjoyed the live piano and singing. To sum it up, it was a very MEMORABLE STAY so a huge THANK YOU to all the staff that made it so special.
Our stay at The Residence Hotel for our two week honeymoon was more than we could have possibly wished for. The buffet food was absolutely exceptional and we treated ourselves to a meal at The Plantation which was out of this world. I would like to congratulate Rah
Our stay at the Residence during the week of our wedding anniversary was bliss. On arriving it was mentioned that we had come to celebrate our anniversary. We had a truly relaxing time at the gorgeous beach by the Plantation diner, where we decided to go for the Lobster night. Unbeknown to us when we were shown to our table it was decorated in beautiful flowers and to top it all were presented with a chocolate cake with candle at the end! Perfect.
Stayed for a week. Beautiful colonial style ocean view hotel, very very clean. Rooms /bathroom spacious n very well furnished. We were in ocean view room with balcony. Hotel services from start to end FAULTLESS in all areas viz. Room service, Reception, Spa, Dining area etc. Whilst all staff whom we came across deserve applaud; we wish to record the courtesy extended to us, specially for vegetarian food, by Messrs Rajesh Kisto, Ruben and Allyas , who ensured our stay was to total satisfaction and met our request without fuss. They personally came to our table and asked if everything was ok. Also our thanks to dining room staff Avinash, Neha n Kavish whom we looked forward to seeing with their smile n happy exchanges and staff at Reception for their assistance. I have travelled globally but without hesitation can say aloud that the services offered at this hotel by senior as also junior staff was unique and we hope to return to this hotel in future. Our thanks to all at the Residence and wishing them the very best. V Patel n family…
Another excellent stay. The staff at every venue were excellent – attentive, helpful and courteous. Thanks to Sabrina (Guest Relations) and Shayad (Patisserie Chef) for some super desserts. We must mention four people who were truly excellent: Radhoa and Sanjitta at The Plantation – a dream team, who are true professionals and a credit to the restaurant, and catered to our every whim. Their chef, Keshan, was fantastic, a real gentleman and surprised us so many times with his creations. Finally, Sooraj, our friend over so many years, who was on top form once again. We were glad to see that the hotel were able to retain these top people after the challenges of the last few years. Finally, it was a pleasure to meet Amanda from the management team. I really enjoyed our meetings – same time, same place, July and August, Amanda. To sum up, a superb stay. Mr & Mrs Thomas…
The Residence Mauritius is a great place to holiday. The setting is lovely, looking out over the lido to the reef and the Indian Ocean beyond. The gardens are well maintained and there are many and varied places to sit/lie and enjoy your day. We went on several tours to other parts of Mauritius which were interesting but we also enjoyed days just spent at the hotel. There are glass bottom boat trips to take, snorkelling at the reef, sailing boats to take out, windsurfs, pedalos etc. There are also activities that you can pay for like parasailing. Or even just to go swimming, in the sea or in one of the several pools.
The Residence Mauritius has been a favorite of mine since my last visit. The beach remains the most beautiful in Mauritius and it was a thrill to wake up each morning and look forward to the colors and marine life of the ocean. The rooms have been upgraded with improved climate control and electronic blackout shutters. They were also spotless. I mean really spotless and absolutely no bugs - the only hotel in Mauritius where I found this to be true. The only animals were in the ocean and the trees where they belong! Special mention should be made of the staff , they remain the hotels greatest asset, especially the restaurant staff who were welcoming, efficient and quick in their service. Also, it was a delight to chat with Sabrina and hear her lovely laugh at breakfast. Thank you, The Residence Mauritius for another amazing vacation!…
My wife and I had a fantastic 8 night stay at The Residence Mauritius. I had spent a lot of time researching hotels in Mauritius before our trip, which was for our 35th Wedding Anniversary and was pleased that I made the right decision! As soon as we arrived at the hotel entrance we knew we would be at home at this hotel. Check-in was efficient and we were delighted that we had been upgraded to one of the largest suites. The suite (room 230) was huge and well equipped. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom includes bath and separate shower. It was lovely to have the space in the lounge/dining area as so often in hotels you end up sitting on the bed! Aside from the room upgrade, what is so impressive about the hotel is the staff, they were outstanding, so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and always willing to help. On the day we were leaving I cut my foot, on some rock on the beach about a mile away from the hotel. When I got back, dripping blood, the beach/pool attendant (think his name was Sam) quickly got to work to patch me up! We stayed on a half-board basis, which we would recommend. In the main restaurant the food is buffet style for both breakfast and dinner, although there is always live cooking stations at both meal times. The food was very good with great variety and we were never short of options. We thought the drinks were reasonably priced. There is a happy hour at the bar from 5-00 to 6-30pm and cocktails at this time were 375 rupees, less than UK prices. In the restaurant a glass of wine was 400 rupees. We would recommend having a meal in the hotel’s A la carte restaurant ‘The Plantation’ which is a short walk along the beach. You get an allowance against your half board entitlement and we found the food to be of a very good standard and with service to match. There are various options if you wish to spend time in the sun, with plenty of sunbeds available around the pools and on the beachfront. Note all of the beaches are public beaches and you will get the occasional beach sellers plying their trade but this was never an issue. A variety of water sports activities are available free of charge, including snorkelling trips, glass bottom boats, pedaloes, etc. The hotel also has a PADI diving centre. Note you can snorkel off the beach but there is not much to see. The hotel boat runs trips twice a day to nearer the edge of reef is you want to see more fish.…
