This place is a true backpackers gem. If you're willing to cope with the fact that this place could be maintained a little better and that it's in a back alley of Essaouira I can really recommend it! The owners a very nice man, the place attracks a crowd of young (and young at heart) travellers and the allround vibe...

I stayed at Hostel Essaouira for two nights in November and can't really complain. I was travelling with a friend and we booked a room on an 8 person sharing basis but we were moved into a room for four at no additional cost. The room was fine, bunk-beds as you'd expect and there was somewhere to lock your things...

There is something special about this hostel that stays in your memory even long after you left. The rooms, the inner yard, the bar.. and above all, the atmostphere that pervades the place. I've been around quite alot but this is the one I enjoyed the most. It was so cool and comfortable to be there, thanks to the owner...

We booked with an open mind after reading mostly good reviews but the occasional disgusted one. Basically, if you want somewhere beautiful calm and relaxing, pay a bit more and go to a quiet riad. This place is exactly as we expected, it was a hostel, with a fun hostel vibe. We got a private room which was fine. The...

I got to the hostel and was greeted by the haunting beauty of Bruce Springsteen on the stereo. I knew this was a winner. The staff are great, and Magics breakfast was brilliant. The rooms where great and cleaned every day, and its got such a chilled out vibe that youre going to stay longer than you meant. I originally...

We had a great experience staying here, the hostel has such a great vibe that we spent most our time hanging out in the common area. The music played all day is amazing, grooves rock tunes from the hippy era. Magic Man, the guy who works there, will do anything to make sure eveeyones happy. People who stay here have...

Unfortunately i don't have much good to say about this place. As a frequent hostel stayer I can honestly say there is plenty of room for improvement. It was relatively easy to find and quite entrap but is you have to walk down some particularly smelly streets to reach it. The rooms were damp, one of the mattresses in our...

My stay at Hostel Essaoiura was the defining moment of my holiday. I really dont even know where to start, but perhaps it should be with the owner "Magic man" & his wife Rasheeda who despite fasting made every effort to make our stay a pleasurable one. If you are looking to visit Morroco I would strongly suggest that you...

Wasn't sure what to make of this hostel upon arrival - seemed rather dark & dingy. However, after been made very welcome by 'Magic Man' we felt very much at home! In fairness, the staff (especially 'Magic Man') couldn't do enough for us and were most hospitable! Great atmosphere and music in the bar at night. Fantastic breakfast also (superb...

This hostel made my trip...I had been travelling through Morocco and booked this hostel online. The 'no over 45's' appealed to me and also a review where someone had wrote a negative about open drug-taking, she makes it sound like a crack den which it is far from! The staff couldn't have been any more helpful and friendly, the rooms...
