We only stayed here for 2 nights, but wished it was longer. We had the whole middle floor of this riad - two bedrooms, both with ensuites, a kitchen and a dinning room/sitting room. A family were staying upstairs, but we hardly noticed them, despite the open courtyard, so privacy wasn't an issue for us. There was also a rooftop...

Essaouira was a welcome break after the dusty mahem of Marrakech; a sleepy fishing port with a thriving beach and tourist scene. On arrival, we negotiated our way through the pedestrianised streets (no taxis inside the old medina walls - the streets are too narrow) to the rhiad. We had a great time at the teahouse- loved the breakfasts and mint tea on the roof terrace- alison is a very gracious host and we loved the candles lighting on the terraces at sunset and her tips on places to eat and shop. It was also great to be able to ask someone questions about the moroccan culture which...
