Take a suite if you can, they are very spacious and not that expensive. great hotel for a short stay in the middle of the medina, clean secure, good service, interesting architecture, a bit impersonal perhaps when compared with out of town boutique resort. Very convenient location to visit essaouira by foot. in the center of the pedestrian medina, full...

Well we are sitting in the quaint Riad Al Madina just waiting to leave for our journey home. This place is as lovely as you can get in Essaouira with its charm and attentive staff. Having spent 4 nights here I will most definitely put this charming Riad as one of the nicest places we have visited. Thank you to...

Me and my girlfriend have stayed in this riad for two weeks and absolutely enjoyed it. The rooms were great. Nicely furnished, daily cleaned. Riad's environment allows you to fully enjoy authentic Morocco. People who complain about rooms' furniture and lack of light should take into account that riads' star rating system is different to hotel rating system. We went...

We visited this hotel as a one-night stop on our round-trip with a group in Marocko. We took a look at three of their rooms and then decided to go out an look for another hotel in Essaouira. Rooms are in our opinion small, dark, sloppy, bad-smelling, moisture-damaged, very basic furnished. Doors have a wooden jalousie which you can turn,...

The location is right in the middle of the old town, with walking distance to everything. Very good athmosphere and unique, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was not impressing, but the total impression of the place is very good. We will come back.

In Essaouira I always stay in the Riad Al Madina. Each room is unique including the room where Jimmy Hendrick's used to stay. The atmosphere and staff are excellent, as is the dinning room. We always have our evening meal in their fine dinning room. I look forward to returning later this year.

Spent two nights in Room #26 on the Exodus Highlights of Morocco trip September 2015. There was lots of hot water, a refreshing change from many places we'd stayed! Rooms are small but comfortable. Some rooms have windows to the outside, others have windows to the public courtyard. If your room opens to the courtyard you'll have little privacy unless...

We spent 5 nights at this delightful riad and had a fantastic stay. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful. We tried the hammam - our first ever and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - we felt so clean afterwards! The riad has a great situation - on the edge of the souk and a short...

There are hotels. And there are riads. Riads don't just come with an open courtyard and a tranquil atmosphere - they really are a blessing for the soul! Riad al Madina in Essaouira truly is one of these very special places! Essaouira itself lowers your shoulders and puts your pulse right down - so this riad fits in SO well.....
