We stayed here for 2 nights. The seven nights before we slept in a tent, so the first night in a real bed and a hot shower - it felt like heaven. The rooms are clean and cosy, the staff is very nice and the breakfast was great. Downtown and the Beach are just A short walk away.

The place was ok. I was sad to miss the complimentary breakfast as the huge dining area adjacent to the reception gave me high hopes. The self-catering kitchen is barely existent. The refrigerator didn’t seem to be turned on and there simply were no supplies for one to cook with.

We spend one night there with our group after a 2 week wildlife session. Was great to have a warm and proper shower after this time and also that we could stay in a room with the group. A really nice place especially for backpackers which is definitely to recommended :)

After obtaining confirmation this is a family friendly place.. Booking in went like a dream with a friendly welcome. All seemed well until after 23:00. Late night guests started to arrive back from their town outing. The toilet plumbing came through our room so you hear the person doing their business and flushing, only to be woken a couple of... My group, 12 college students and two adult drivers, arrived to Swakopmund at night (approx. 10:30 pm), and no one was answering the phone at the hostel, so we were forced to circle the area several times looking for the place. When we finally arrived to Villa Wiese, the manager was very unfriendly. She was irritated with us for waking... More

Dear Amanda, We thank you for taking the time to respond to us. At Villa Wiese it is our highest priority to produce a great experience for all our guests. We stayed here at the end of a 7 day tour from Cape Town to Swakopmund. We ended up extending our stay by a couple of days while we waiting for our flight. It is a very basic hostel, but reasonably priced. It is a 10 minute walk from town where most of the restaurants are. The staff were very... More

A basic backpacker on the edge of town. A quiet location about 10 minutes to the main shopping area. There is a large fruit and vegetable market and other shops about 20 minutes in the opposite direction. The dorm rooms are run down and only one toilet and shower for about 9 or 10 people. Fortunately the place was pretty... More

The rooms were pretty bare. I paid for a single room and got a three-bed room with the two other beds empty. I would expect a bit more for the price, as I wouldn't call it cheap. Showers were pretty poor. And I wouldn't call it particularly clean, either. On the upside; their lounge is really nice, with a pretty... More
