We recently booked room for family of 4 at the hotel. We booked the hotel thinking we would get Marriott quality but the owners changed hands beginning of May. The rooms on the first floor are too hot to stay in - the heat is unbearable. None of us were able to sleep at night. Best to avoid until they...

The hotel is okay, excellent location (between Sakup and walvis), facing the ocean. If you like to sleep and wake up listening to the waves is a very nice choice. Good points: nice and friendly staff, very good breakfast (few options but really tasteful), quite and good internet (my trip was in business). The infrastructure is okay for a ~15...

The location is ok since you are between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund but this hotel has seen better days! It wants to be a Boutique Hotel but it doesn't quite make it. The room we had was huge but everything felt like nobody is really taking care of it. The beach in front of the hotel is nice but you...

It was a wonderful place. We stayed there for 4 days. Room service was very good. The only negative point is the menu. There are not much of a variety. So if you stay to long one have to eat the same food. There are no other restaurant nearby.

Protea Burning Shore wasn't in Walvis Bay as we thought (Google maps took us the other side of Walvis Bay), but at Long Beach south of WB. We had a massive room which was great but lacked some more practical things like towel hooks, but the great feature of this hotel was its position on the beach, looking right onto...

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The found solutions for the problem. The problem being that our room had no hot water. After unpacking and have an evening stroll we wanted to shower and bath - but no hot water. We were given a new room without a fuss but we had to pack up. The room also needed...

What do you expect when you plan to have dinner at a small hotel's restaurant that is right on the beachfront at a popular holiday destination? You would expect to have a great experience as plain and simple as that. Well, the place has everything in its favour. Awesome beach and surf views to start with, comfy seats and that...

I don't really know what made Angelina Jolie choose this hotel.... I truly can't imagine there isn't anything better than this mess in swakopmund or walvis bay, but maybe in 10 years things have changed as this hotel has become a terrible mess. Untrained staff at the reception, downward rude and embarrassingly slow in both understanding simple requests or managing...

“We had 'Shiloh' room which was a luxury room, but it is open plan with the bathroom. Not a good idea if you want privacy on the loo! Otherwise, a nice room with a partial view of the beach and sea. We upgraded from a standard room which a member of staff said was very small. (We didn't see one.)”
