Relaxing place, clean, well equiped kitchen, good service, shared rooms are well distributed, nice Garden, self laundry, is a good place with a good price. I could say that I will come back the next time I go to boquete. (cons. air conditioning in the room, but the temperature can go around 16 C. during night so it's fine).
We stayed 4 nights. The private room was the most basic private they have I think as it was small and no fan or aircon although it was not uncomfortable. Owner was very friendly and helped us make arrangements and give recommendations - he seemed well liked by everyone in the hostel. Town has a nice vibe and a couple of easy treks in the area were fun (3 lost waterfalls and another peak). Wifi was a bit unstable but the owner advised the were upgrading to 300 mbps on the day we were leaving so maybe better now. Overall I recommend the location, the accommodation and the staff.
Rooms are very basic and no fan or air-condition, you can keep windows open and hope to get some air movement. Service was poor, almost half the time. The 3 star is only because the other half had good service. So didn't want to take that away from them for 1 or 2 people's slack in service.
I stayed here based off the reviews on Hostelworld but I think they are either paid or highly influenced to exaggerate the quality. First, the positive aspects. It’s cheap, plain and simple. The water is just warm enough to shower in. If Boquete gets any colder it would be a negative. Kitchen seems to be fully stocked. Bed was comfortable. They provide a sheet and thin blanket. There are a few shelves in the room for each guest. Majority of staff are friendly and property grounds are well maintained. Staff appear to work hard to keep the common areas clean. There is some issue with communication barrier but mostly my own fault for not speaking Spanish. And now your traditional complaints that I experienced over 3 nights and 4 days. Owners presentation is not very hospitable, maybe because I’m a gringo. I don’t know The building and atmosphere needs some TLC. I visited 2 other hostels: Momilisa and Arte, both appeared in better condition. Paint was rubbing on my clothes if I brushed the walls. The lounge and eating area are okay. No matter what anyone says the internet is nonexistent throughout the property. It works better at Boteque Brewing Company. There are very small security lockers in the lobby to lock up your most precious valuables but nothing in the room, seem to be common at Arte as well. The kitchen closes as 10pm because, what I believe the staff/owner? sleep in the adjacent room. The 5 bed dorm room was not secured by any key or lock and they let everyone in the hostel to use the one bathroom. Very safe town but something to keep in mind between private or dorm room. The other guests mentioned their private rooms were basic but pretty good. Not sure if they all had their own bathrooms. I would pass next time I’m in Boquete for another place even if the price difference is $1-2. Safe travels…
We LOVE this hostel! Highly recommend, perfect location (2 blocks from main st, supermarket & other restaurants/ bars within 5 min walk), staff are friendly & very accommodating! Provided free map & have an awesome guide to Boquete with trips/ treks in area. We sayed in private room with shared bathroom. The room was super spacious, comfy bed & nice garden view. Kitchen is spot on! Very clean, great facilities & eco friendly. Individual containers & shelves for your food too. Very chilled vibe with a super friendly dog and a couple of cats for animal lovers.
