We loved it here. It's well off the beaten track and popular with wealthy native Panamanians as well as ex pat Canadians and Americans. You can walk for miles along a pristine beach in a nature reserve and yet you have all the amenities of...More

Hello Kris Laurel,
We appreciate your comments a lot, thank you for staying with us. We look forward to see you soon.
Spent 3 nights at Las Olas 2017 to celebrate New Years Eve on the beach and relax. Check in was very fast and efficient as well as extremely friendly. The room was decent -- nothing fancy, but well maintained and clean. The service staff for...More

Hi Mary H
Surfers look at swell forecasts, you could do the same but look for none to small waves. Try "Magic Seaweed" website for surfers - central america south - panama - la barquetta and look for days with no stars. Typically for this area calmer ocean months would be during January and February but could happen at any time. To be safe when swimming in the ocean never go past waist deep, sometimes the ocean will be flat for a while but waves may be on the way (waves come in "sets"). Buen viaje!
