if you want a great experience and learn about kuna culture, staying at this lodge provided an opportunity to stay in a kuna community and interract with the people close hand. orlando diaz was a great guide, patient and facilitated interraction with kuna artisans. the lodge is rustic but reasonably comfortable and is being remodeled.

We knew before that the hotel was very basic with a cold shower, no locks on the door and almost no privacy. That's not such a problem, but the toilet didn't flush and the light was not working too. When we reported this to the manager he filled up the water reservoir from the toilet with a bucket of water....

We were 6 people and some of us stayed in the 2nd floor and some in the ground level. We had trouble with the manager on our first day because the toilet on the 2nd floor collapsed and the water flooded our room at the ground level. I can be understanding in that situation because I was aware that hotels...

Our guide was very friendly and patient and guided us to the nearby islands. Although is kind of a busy island (houses everywhere and no beach), its a good place to explore the other islands. Especcialy if you speak spanish, the guide can tell you everything about the surroundings and history. The rooms are clean, large and have (cold) shower...

We stayed here for nearly 5 nights and is was a thrilling cultural experience. You are basically staying in the village along with the Kuna people, who live in fairly crowded conditions. The cleanliness was not up to North American standards. But I did not find it to be unsanitary, rather just rustic. Rarely in life do we get a...

This is not a place for anyone who is squeamish. There are no real locks at the "hotel"or in your private rooms. There is no front desk to answer your questions and you are basically alone at night. No hot water and there is only electricity between 6-10 p.m. I didn't mind this as we were tired from our day...

We stayed here in a building that was literally being eaten by termites; so much so that when someone walked on the floor above us, termite dust fell down on us and if we were sleeping, it fell on our faces. Private bathroom, cold water (which is fine), but the bathroom was not clean. Sheets were not clean and were...

We arrived at the lodge on dec 31th 2009; the Kuna indians had a party for 4 days. The party was directly under our window and the smoke of their fires filled our room. It was not possible to sleep under those circumstances. The beds and bedroom were clean, but very basic. We left after an hour... Under normal circumstances...

I thought this was a great hotel, on the whole. I had a room with a private bath and granted, it was basic, but it was all I expected and much more. I was picked up by boat in El Proviner at the airport by Orlando, who works for the hotel and he was an outstanding guide. Food was more...
