Clean, spacious room with good ac, free WiFi in room and clean en-suite. Quiet in a very noisy city. However, no possibility of getting coffee or anything to eat at this hotel after breakfast, Not much choice to dine near the hotel. Breakfast was average. The common areas need TLC. The plants were dying of thirst and many were insect...

Good and inexpensive accommodations in Peru can often be rustic and surprisingly comfortable and hospitable. Pueblo Verde overcomes the rustic element nicely and provides comfortable and friendly accommodations in town that is best known as a stepping off point to the southern Amazon basin and the Madre de Dios river. We really enjoyed our time in Puerto Maldonado at this hotel! We did not arrive prepared and the owners were extremely helpful and kind. They also gave us a lot of tips on how to ride around the city in the tuk tuks without getting overcharged. The breakfast buffet was delicious and featured mostly local foods: the fritters with fruit...

There is no good reason to stay in Puerto Maldonado unless you are using it as base to go into the jungle - in which case you are better off selecting a lodge and staying out of the town. This hotel is a bit out of the way of the city centre but not too bad and the facilities are...

We stayed in Puerto Maldonado for four days, and were recommended Pueblo Verde by our mototaxi driver. We totally lucked out! The staff were very helpful, the manager spoke great English, and they offer rooms with air conditioning for a modest price. They had a great breakfast buffet and also gave us terrific recommendations for activities and outfitters for exploring...
